Do we think this is closing??
There's some "signs" it might be.
Max Harwood (movie Jamie) mentioned on insta that Noah is playing Jamie until August 2021. The show isn't booking past end of August 2021.
Now it could be a coincidence and that they've just not announced its extending yet and they could be planning a cast change?
But Six the Musical will reportedly not be returning to the Arts Theatre and it needs a new theatre from when the Bob Marley Musical moves in.
I have a feeling Six could replace Jamie.
Now just my thoughts, nothing concrete. What do you all think? X

There is nowhere else really for "Six" to move to, and arguably it has more staying power than Jamie, which has had a great run (1000th performance last night!). That and the casting of Bianca Del Rio for the tour for certain dates, alongside Shane Richie at other dates, when no further casting has been announced for the West End. I wonder if Bianca was initially meant to come back to the West End production in the autumn. Both shows currently only booking to 29th August, surprising really since a lot of shows are only just starting back up around then. I think we will hear something soon.

Do we think this is closing?? It's a relatively cheap musical to stage, it's selling well and it's not discounting. I don't see it as a favourite to close right now, but I do agree that Six would slightly have the edge if they were the only two options. But Jamie has had short booking periods and late star casting announcements throughout its run, so those aren't unusual.

They've always done short booking periods. And closing it just before the film comes out seems like a very strange idea...

I think SIX has the edge over Jamie. They’re good shows in equal message - I’m not heavily into them but the fanbase is crazy Six Wise and it was always a sell out even pre pandemic.

What’s the capacity like of the Apollo? From what I’ve heard Six is moving to somewhere smaller than the Lyric but bigger than the Arts, so could fit the bill

Could it move into the new Nimax theatre that replaced the Astoria?

Would it move to the Ambassadors?

Ambassadors was my guess too, being that nothing much seems to be happening over there and their website hasn’t been updated since pandemic times hit.

I can't see Nica closing Jamie given she was the one who decided to transfer it to London.
The Ambassadors is a good guess for Six but it's not much bigger than the Arts with 444 seats.

Would Kenny Wax want to stick with Nimax? Always proved a lucrative partnership... Surprised they didn’t try and grab the criterion, if P&P is now there for an open run.

Was nice to be back at a big, fully staged, West End Musical. Quite a lot of covid "jokes" and references scattered throughout - which got a fair few muffled laughs. We had a show-stop in act one, only for a couple of minutes, seemed to be some minor technical issue. Melissa Jacques really does steal the show with He's My Boy.
On another note - when/why was Ugly In This Ugly World cut? I was waiting for it and it wasn't in the show (unless i'm seriously struggling to remember, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't)

Can't imagine how they could cut it, as there's a fairly essential sequence which leads into the next scene.

Gosh maybe I'm having a very senior moment. Were you there on Wednesday evening too? I'm guessing so due to the reference of shop stop. If so, Ugly was definitely in.

And Ugly In This Ugly World was there last night too!
On that note, great show again and a very responsive audience with lots of cheering and clapping.
For some reason, they'd turned the cast board off, but as far as I could tell all the regulars were on (plus Joe Wolstenholme joined in for Work of Art).
I had a good front row seat, so a perfect view (although it is a high stage so you miss some of lower back portion). I've been "upgraded" a few times to seats further back, but generally I like the feeling from the front.
One poor girl on the front row got a dose of hiccups, then her friend got the giggles. I've always hoped never to get hiccups at a show myself (so far, so good), but it can't be pleasant. Unfortunately it was during My Man, Your Boy, but everyone managed to keep going like troopers.
Noah was excellent as always and Shane Richie has the audience eating out of the palm of his hand. He's only advertised in London for another month.
It really is one of the those shows that really is a delight to lighten up a dark day.

Saw the show again last night .... last time I saw it was December everyone significantly upped their game ... what a fabulous tight cast ... biggest surprise of the night was Shane Ritchie !!! Really loved his interpretation of Hugo / loco as loco a cross between Mae West and Bette Davis perfect and really relishing the songs .... Mj knocked he’s my boy out of the park yet again ( despite the drunk singing along on the front row ) To add to that his even drunker friend who when arriving placed her wine on the stage ( the FOH staff are some of the best and swiftly took it down ) then told me she’s seen Jamie 3 times and loves it so much then texted all the way through act one ( staff told her to turn it off ) and her friend to wear his mask 😷 numerous times he did not follow requests ! Thankfully no texting in second half. Only because battery had run out and she plugged it in the theatre socket !! She turned her back on me in second half as after 45 mins I politely indicated to her to close her phone . This was 20 mins after staff had told her already . Then wait for it !!! The finale .... her friend needs the loo clambers over everyone .... she gets up puts her full wine glass on the stage and handbag 👝!!! 😱 Shane ritchies face was a picture then Sandra b noticed it and corpsed in shock ... then James gillan or maybe Noah. But think it was James shouted at top of his voice get that off the stage ! Lots of giggles from the cast and just shock of it all .... wish someone has filmed it as I know some fans do record the last song 🎶 Omg 😳 what a night happy birthday me lol .... can’t wait to go back hopefully minus the rude drunks

I was there again tonight. I had nowhere near the excitement of drowseychap. The audience were very well behaved. Great second row view.
All the standard cast were on. Everyone was on form although I have a feeling there may be a cold going around the cast.
I wasn't so keen on Shane Richie's Hugo during his first London run, but I've grown to like how he plays the role now.
One thing I've noticed is they've cut back on the mask/Covid jokes a lot. Very few of them are left from the brief reopening in November. The ones that are there work really well.
Not much more to add this time. Just a nice feelgood evening!

I’m guessing it’s because there’s no available theatres right now for Six besides taking the Apollo and even though Jamie is successful and profitable, Six is basically a phenomenon now, so Jamie has to go until another theatre is free?

From reading other threads, Six is taking the Vaudeville not the Apollo, Magic Goes Wrong is apparently moving, which makes little sense to me.

Presumably so that Jamie will return to the Apollo once Magic Goes Wrong finishes its run. That said, I do wonder how long it will come back for.
