Thank you 😁 And is the guy in the Brexit tv play who knows about the advanced data stuff the guy who plays Eric in this? Yeah, same guy - Kyle Soller

He is very good, very poised. As for the second part of this oeuvre which I saw this evening, come on people, it is 40 minutes too long. Like most American movies it doesn’t know when to end. There are at least three places it could end beside the actual ending. The dies in his sleep at 97 is so utterly sentimental as is all the other happy endings that it takes away from the attempted deep pain of the characters' experiences. The suicide is a cliche. Did the writer not know how to get this character sorted out? The flashes of Howard's End were puzzling. They seemed to me rather workshopped, as if someone had the idea and they all worked on bits of it. I’m sorry but I just don’t see why this is so lauded at the moment. As for Ms Redgrave, she didn’t take advantage of the voice coach did she? Her accent was so all over the place it was ludicrous. It would have been better to keep her a Brit than the Australian Essex girl she came out as. Though hearing a woman's voice at the end was refreshing.
So I was disappointed to say the least.
The best part of the experience for me this week, having seen part one n Monday and two tonight was discovering the Egyptian Street food place opposite, Koshari Street. Great tasty food and lovely guys in there. Almost a replacement for Gaby's of blessed memory.

Funnily enough I also went to Koshari street, great food and it was the first shift for one of the guys

Absolutely adored this...best play I’ve seen in a long while. Wasn’t 100% convinced by VR’s accent though. Quite why Samuel H Levine wasn’t nominated for a Whatsonstage nod is beyond me but I guess it highlights the absurdity of WOS awards.

In the Henry VI Hollow Crown? And I think the David Suchet Long Day's Journey into night but would need to check I'm not making that up. He's always good.

You're spot on, peggs, Kyle Soller *was* in the Suchet Long Day's Journey with Laurie Metcalf at the Apollo.

Part One isn't. Part Two, somewhat randomly, is. Go figure.

Argh I was going to see part two on Tuesday, planning to try rush, but if that fails (most likely will) looks like I'm scuppered!

Been refreshing rush tickets for 25 minutes, it still says 6 available and hasn't changed once. I haven't used the app that much, is that normal? Anyway I've given up. Hope it comes back one day.

I've noticed that the rush for this has been very weird the last couple of weeks - it just says there are only 8 or 6 available and doesn't do the usual 'stand by' when they've all been put into users baskets. I can confirm that they are actually selling though as I managed to snap up 2 for tonight (sorry not trying to rub it in!). Looks like every day now they only have 6 or 8 tickets available in row T of the stalls as that's what I was given for part 1 last week too.

Ah well done to you, enjoy! Last time I used it I kept getting stuck on the "One moment" screen and had to close down the app and reopen each time, very frustrating.

On 2 show days you are only able to get for part 1 or 2, right? I suppose there's no way to get them for both.

I think it is technically possible to get them for both (it comes up with an error message if you try and buy more than 1 set of rush tickets for the same performance/show, but these are technically different shows in the system), but because they are selling out in literally seconds I don't think you'd be able to buy a set for part 1, checkout then get rush tickets for part 2 in your basket before they all get snapped up by other people. The only way I could think of doing it is to have 1 person try for part 1 and another person try for part 2 on a separate device and get 2 tickets each.

Anyone dayseating tomorrow? Did you dayseat? I really want to try for Saturday but I know it's not going to happen. I read on Facebook that last Saturday people lined up from 5am and even those who arrived at 6 got standing tickets.

They were gone in less than a second. The earliest I could have got to the Theatre would have been around 8 so I thought that was probably too late. Ended up at Summer and Smoke this afternoon and seeing Aspects tonight

I was going to try day seating on Saturday but I don't think I will bother now. I don't like the idea of queuing for 7 hours with the chance I'll only get standing tickets! Will try rush again, but might just have to make do with my 4 visits to part 1 and 6 visits to part 2 I wasn't sure if they would do rush tickets on the final day (I noticed they didn't for some other shows like BOOH for example), but on the app it says 'check back Saturday at 10', so I presume that means they will be doing them.

I just wish I could see it one more time but I don't think I will, as I couldn't dayseat today (freakin' essay deadline...). Yes, if they weren't going to do it they would've probably announced it by now. I tried rush tix today and nothing, as usual, and I kept refreshing like a maniac until they sold out and removed the sales. I will try again tomorrow but I don't think it will do any difference. If you want to share any tips on how you got the rush seat, my inbox is open

Saw it for a third time last night (well, Part 2 that is). Vanessa's cornpone Southern accent out of control but that's life (and one of the actors stomped on one of her lines -- either that or she came in with hers unexpectedly, which is just as likely). But the men were stronger than ever, if that seems possible, and Andrew Burnap as before quite simply incandescent. The production will be missed.

Saw part one yesterday and enjoyed it. Some, great acting , especially Andrew Burnap who gave charm to a character that could have been totally unlikeable. Agree with comment re the Walter monologue near the end - ground the play to a halt and could have been lost easily without affecting things.
Was slightly distracted (in a nice way) during the performance by having Jonathan Bailey, Hugh Skinner and James Norton sitting in front of me - Mr Bailey especially seems to be having a whale of a time on his afternoon off from ‘Company’ !

Agree with comment re the Walter monologue near the end - ground the play to a halt and could have been lost easily without affecting things. Couldn’t disagree more with this. For me it’s the emotional heart of the play and absolutely critical to the the themes around intergenerational responsibility and relationships. . I think it would be a much lesser piece of work without it. But we’re all different...

My friend's new wi-fi must be very fast. I finally managed to get a Rush-Ticket for part 2 tonight this morning. Thanks for the tip with Koshari Street, have already eaten there the 3rd time this week.

Just walked past the Noël Coward and there was a line of around 15 people waiting for returns for part two! A shame it was a slow start for this one because as word spread it’s sold out!

Well this afternoons final performance of part 1 was as incredible as ever. There was noticeably a lot more people uncontrollably sobbing at the end compared to the last 4 times I’ve seen it (I may or may not have been one of them). It sounded like most people around me were return visitors.
Another celebrity sighting - Rebel Wilson sat a few rows in front of me.

There is lots to cry about in this world
A play about self indulgent and self entitled characters
Behaving in a promiscuous and perverted manner
Is NOT one of them
