keep looking at their artistic programme and really nothing appeals and it has been like this for a long time. As you all know I am a keen theatregoer, so it is not hard to get me through the doors, but their programme is so poor. I started this post because they also offer a PAYG carnet, like Southwark Playhouse, where I have had several subscriptions for £60 each for 5 shows a bargain, I cannot say the same for the Arcola as nothing artistically interests me, am I the only one?

I went there for the first time earlier this year for the Leopold & Loeb musical which I enjoyed but there's nothing grabbing me in their 2018 calendar so far. I wouldn't rule out going back though if there was something I wanted to see 😁

I live a 10 trot away in Haggerston and I would love to visit more often but as you say the programme is dull. Saying that I loved Trees are made of blood and Onegin this year.

It's a fair old slog for me (mainline train, tube then overground so 6 stages in total for a return trip), which puts me off going more often, but when I've been able to face it, I've seen some great stuff there. Prices are very reasonable and the passport - which is no longer time-limited, I believe - offers even better value. The programming is varied but that and the fact that there are two spaces means a wide variety in a short space of time, so if you don't like one or two things, there should be something more appealing along soon.

Greg Hicks, yes outstanding and the Opera Eugene Onegin was great update. We can usually park nearby and there is a tube station. There is a nice bar but they fall down on the in house snacks. I will always give them a look, see what they are planning. Easy to book by phone and they changed my tix with no fuss on one occasion.

OK, I've only been four times in around four years but every production I've enjoyed hugely:
Sweet Smell of Success - really excellently produced musical with David Badella Kenny Morgan - excellent play and performances Carousel - a superb fresh take on a classic musical Richard III - this was riveting with the superb Greg Hicks
