Anyone? I'd call this my guilty pleasure except that I don't feel guilty about seeing something which simply offers mindless, forgettable fun. I've seen all 3 films though unlike some, I can't remember the original and its successor in sufficient detail to compare them, but that made no difference to my enjoyment. Preposterous plot, sure, but some great singing, a chance to see familiar faces again and 90+ minutes of sheer escapism, especially bearing in mind what's going on in the real world right now.

Since there are no Matinees today, I finally saw Pitch Perfect 3 today and had the whole cinema for myself - no latecomers, no talkers, no popcorn munchers - couldn't have been any better.
And yes, I agree with everything showgirl has said above. Preposterous plot, but I still enjoyed it, despite this being the worst of the three films. Nevertheless, I think it's good that they've ended the series.

At last! I began to think I was the only one here to have seen any of this trilogy - or at least, to admit to it.
(And talking of guilty pleasures, I saw Wonder, too, last Saturday, but don't think I can bear to start a thread for that for fear of really being the one and only this time.)

At last! I began to think I was the only one here to have seen any of this trilogy - or at least, to admit to it. My local cinemas were only showing the German version - no way José - so I had to wait until I'm back in London. Now that the trilogy has ended, I think it's time for a Pitch Perfect Musical

Gosh, Michael - I'd forgotten where you were based - I'd be fascinated to see a German version, though my German is probably too rusty now. A for a musical version, yes, please - bring it on!

I love these films, saw the 3rd the day after it came out and really enjoyed it, however I'd say that the first two films have a better selection of songs in. Love Rebel Wilson in them (and all the other films I've seen her in, gutted I never got a chance to see her in Guys and Dolls). Still disappointed Fat Amy isn't a real person I can be friends with!

Saw it yesterday and chuckled most the way through, along with a could of big laughs. Thought it was delightful and on a shallow note the military lads upped the eye candy level. Although it did take me a while to get my head around Craig from Hollyoaks being a music mogul.

I’m late to the party on this, but finally saw it today. I know it is pure escapism, and not everything has to be a masterpiece, but after seeing the previous two films and enjoying them, I felt that this was AWFUL! It has a dreadful paper-thin plot that doesn’t hold up to much with far too many plot contrivances, and I absolutely hated al of the action sequences. It was almost like they thought that the previous two films were so successful, that they could just throw a ton of money at it to mask how dreadfull the story was. It also wasn’t very funny, and at best I gave a few chuckles.
Some of the performances were equally bad. John Lithgow, stunning in THE CROWN as Winston Churchill, was painful here, with an awful mock- Australian accent. I know others have signalled that Rebel Wilson as Fat Amy was a stand-out, and clearly the audience I was with thought she was wonderful, based on the amount of laughs she got, but I didn’t like her at all. I found her constant remarks extremely annoying. Only Anna Kendrick measured up for me.
The music was good, but not as good as in previous films. Some of it almost played like a “greatest hits”, with things like the Riff Off, just being put in to remind the audience of the other films.
I hate to write negative reviews, but could find very few positives to say unfortunately.
