Oh how sad - looks like he had been ill for a while.
A few years ago we went to see Something on Ice at the Palladium, where he had a guest spot after his foray into Dancing on Ice. He was a rubbish skater, but what a performer! He was so obviously relishing every single minute on stage - he still grinned like a 10 year old.
RIP Keith.

I was always a Swap Shop fan rather than the rather more manic Tiswas. Took me years to work out that Posh Paws (the original purple dinosaur on kids tv) was actually Swap Shop backwards.

I was really shocked to hear this news. Always remember him from Swap Shop and he was always so jolly and full of life whenever he was on anything on tv. Will be greatly missed.

Very sad news, I didn't even know he had been ill. Certainly part of my childhood with the Saturday morning shows and Cheggers Plays Pop. Also overcame extreme alcoholism to become a key member of the Big Breakfast team in early and mid 1990's.
I wonder how long he had this condition as he did Dancing On Ice as recently as 2013, so he must have been in decent health then.
This year we have sadly lost John Noakes, Brian Cant and now Cheggers from the golden age of Children's TV.
