Buckle up kids...
A New York Times expose on sexual misconduct by Broadway directors (and director/choreographers) is coming out either on Sunday, though there are reports it will be pushed until Monday.
From the list I saw, just about all of them have (or have had) shows playing on Broadway and West End. One of them is English.
It'll be interesting to see how the community responds.

A friend of mine knows people in the industry in the States who have told him. The cat is out of the bag and people know who the men are at this point. The story was being verified fully which pushed it until Sunday, but I believe the Monday push is now because there are more people speaking up.

The latter is offline until Monday. Legal reasons? On the subject, it is about time. It reminds me, in a way, of the political edifice in Eastern Europe in the early nineties. A system where power led people to feel powerless that took just a few cracks to lead to the entire edifice crumbling.

I assume the English one is a currently very well employed (self-employed) director of major repute?

Lilely held back until Monday now because of the continuing disintegration of the US government and subsequent good copy.
On Levine, it’s depressing seeing the number of people online showing no surprise and saying it’s about time, well if you knew about it why didn’t you say/do something!?!

There are so many reasons why a people haven't said anything.
First of all- we don't know if they did or didn't. As has been reported, top decision makers are knowledgeable of these things, but have fostered a culture that either brushed it off or deliberately protected predators. And that's exactly why people chose not to say something, if at all: decision makers or HR is compliant. Their actions could either cause their own dismissal or end up being blacklisted, shamed or pushed to the side.

As ali973 says, the way complaints have been handled in the past hasn't encouraged people to come forward. In 1993 a group of women came forward to complain about the playwright Israel Horovitz's treatment of young women. The women were dismissed as being 'tightly wound' (i.e. neurotic.) Now this, 24 years later : variety.com/2017/legit/news/israel-horovitz-sexual-midsconduct-1202627067/Even Horovitz's son says he believes the women.

I know, I know, and it’s the perpetuation of those power structures that makes me angry. As someone who has been guiding young people into the business for decades, though, I’m particularly angry at the hushing up that left us in the dark.

Not just Broadway. The reports about James Levine are rocking the opera world big style I am actually aware of an individual who I knew briefly through association who is currently under investigation in the Australian Opera for inappropriate behaviour which leads to an investigation not only against the man involved but also Australia Opera who has payed a part in covering it up. And not only covering it up, but for doing so for so long.

I am reminded of the conviction of Robert King - one of the leading choral conductors of his generation - for 14 counts of boys (including some minors)
All aspects of the performing arts are in some way affected.

Not just Broadway. The reports about James Levine are rocking the opera world big style I don’t know why allegations about James Levine should be rocking the opera world right now since his sexual predilections have been widely known throughout the classical music business for many years, but up till now the powers that be have managed to keep the lid on the situation.

I think part of the 'rocking' is the revelation that many people knew and did nothing - and now their inactivity has been exposed as well as the original alleged wrong-doing.
