Saw it at the Lowry on Tuesday night, knew very little about it going in, and absolutely loved it - so much so that I bought the album on my way out.

I've just been looking at prices for Christmas 2019. Good luck to them - this is show business after all - but a seat that could be booked this year for £23, will cost either £35.50 or £39.50, plus fees.
Best start saving now @elanor!

How long before they start doing singalong performances, I wonder?

That's still pretty good going compared to some things. I'm so pleased for them that it's been such a hit. When I saw them in Cambridge they all seemed so surprised that it went so well. I went not knowing what to expect, and half scared that it could have been absolutely awful. The cast and the team around it seem so genuinely surprised and happy and excited about the success, I think it's been just lovely to see.

I was actually half-joking, but I'm right with you there, ie never my thing but in this case.... and given all the CD sales and repeat visits, it probably won't be long anyway before people start singing along, even if it's not officially that sort of performance. Now what about dancealong ones?!

Now what about dancealong ones?! I definitely think they'd benefit from singalong shows as as you say, people are likely to do it anyway. Also they've talked about wanting to do concert style performances before, whether that could be feasibly done at the Arts I don't know but yeah, it's definitely something on their minds!

I'd be up for a ruder, late night, no kids version too. Ha!! I noticed the other day the Arts schedule have changed weekday matinees to 6:30pm on a Thurs with a 9pm show after which is definitely a good move, I know they weren't able to completely fill the usual 2:30pm matinees!

After watching the today’s afternoon show, I can easily say this was an absolutely brilliant show. When I first heard that it was touring to Salford I was honestly in 2 minds whether to come and watch it. Though after watching what is a completely crazy show, I’m really glad I did. Right from the first song, the whole production just gives out so much positive energy that you just get swept along with it. The pop concert style mixed together with cracking humour both within the songs and the and the banter between the cast in between the songs really did put a smile on my face through the 80mins.
The performances from the cast really where first class both from their individual songs as well as the ensemble numbers. This is definitely the type of musical theatre that really does greatly benefit from playing in a more intimate setting rather than a much bigger auditorium where I think a lot of the energy would be easily lost. Another benefit from the intimate setting is that you really do see the great coustumes that the cast wear.
The different styles of music employed was an inspired choice. Though I am a big fan of the pop ballard so I particularly enjoyed “Heart of Stone”, though the “Haus of Holbein” was another enjoyable number, particularly in the staging of it which was just so funny. The band sounded great and the sound mixing was spot on for such a small auditorium.
I have to say that the audience at this performance where really fantastic and only got the phones out at the end at the permission of the cast. I must admit some preshow dread as looking through Luke Bayer’s Twitter feed, he saw the show a few days ago and appears to have had some particularly bad patrons around him in terms of recording the show or the taking of photos during the show.
Overall, an absolutely fantastic afternoon at the theatre and definitely worth another viewing when SIX makes it Lowry return.

All 6 of the current queens are confirmed to be continuing in the show for the 2019 Arts run, and apparently additional swings are being added.

I had SO MUCH FUN seeing this again, and I'm so glad I went to both shows as it was just as good second time round. I thought Grace Mouat was fab as Cathy P too. OH I just love this show!
I was in the slightly raised seat tier for the evening, which was an excellent view for the dancing, and meant I did actually record the final song, which I wasn't going to. Not sure I can add video on here, but it's on my Twitter if you're interested.

It's one of the most fun things I think I've seen (along with perhaps Nell Gwynn and the Crucible Annie Get Your Gun). The cast are just so enthusiastic and energetic, and seem to be having such a ball. It came across as very fresh and natural as well.

Heart Of Stone is definitely my favourite song from the CD and a real earworm. An odd phrase, though, unless it's intended to mean that Jane Seymour's love for her son was enduring, as her heart is clearly anything but stone-like.
Actually, I always think of that ballad as "Unbreakable" and I think that would have made more sense as a title.

A heart of stone is usually portrayed as a negative thing, cold and hard etc. But it's turned around to point out that it's a survival mechanism to mean that it outlasts everything else and withstands all the crap thrown at it.

With @elanor and david at Six and then david and Phantom of London almost crossing paths at The Producers, we could have had a Theatre Board North meet up yesterday..!

Indeed, that was the only way I too could interpret it, but I think anyone hearing the title alone would assume it was about someone cold-hearted. Still, the show is a success and the music is a large part of that, so we're all happy anyway.

Pretty sure I would’ve crossed paths with you yesterday, drunkenly traipsing Manc with 11 of my wifes uni friends. Was forced onto the outskirts of the Xmas market at one point (shudders).

So all the girls get alternates! Specific dates or is it more a Wicked/standby situation? Whilst I'm over the whole alternate thing for every role under the sun, at least that means you are likely to get all the girls unless under extreme circumstances.

I would presume this'll now allow the cast to book some holidays etc, and it must be nice for them to alleviate a bit of stress when one person is already off sick! Other than that I imagine it'll be a usual standby sitch.

Do we think she got first choice over what two roles she gets to cover?
