Blimey the Birmingham Symphony Hall’s undoubtedly large organ sounded like it needed a stern hand at the start of the POTO overture!

The Symphonic Suites are great - shame it was only a few though. Would have loved ones of Cats, JCS, Tell Me On A Sunday, Aspects too.

Even as a young boy Andrew was interested in Musicals and the Theatre and even
had a toy theatre where he would act out his juvenile productions. He grew up to become perhaps Britain's greatest ever writer of musicals Evita... Phantom... Cats.... etc.
Interesting how often he is writing from a female perspective eg .... I dont know how to love him .... Memory ..... Dont Cry for me Argentina ... As if we never said goodbye .... High flying adored
Not heard a lot from Andrew and Tm in the last few years maybe they could come together and write one last musical
... The French Revolution.... where Andrew could once again write from the feminine point of view with songs for Marie Antoinette.... her life so full of
drama and tragedy .....
Lets do it !

Andrew Lloyd Webber: 'The Chinese want to buy up our West End theatres' Lord Lloyd-Webber warned that 'it might not just be Chinese phone networks the Government has to worry about'
By Anita Singh, DOMINIC CAVENDISH 24 July 2020 • 6:00am Chinese investors are poised to take over West End theatres if the Government does not get the industry back up and running, Lord Lloyd-Webber has warned.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Lord Lloyd-Webber said there is “no clarity” on how or when the Government’s £1.57 billion will be distributed. Without urgent funds and a clear timeline for reopening, he said, theatre owners will be forced to put the buildings up for sale.
Lord Lloyd-Webber owns six theatres including the London Palladium, and said his company will not “be able to survive in the current form beyond January and February next year” unless Covid restrictions are eased.
He said: “There are major buyers circling around who are not British and would like to own West End theatres.
“The huge price paid for the Theatre Royal Haymarket was because there was another bidder - from China.
"So it might not just be Chinese phone networks the Government has to worry about.”
On Thursday, Lord Lloyd-Webber staged a performance (pictured below) at the London Palladium before an audience of 640 people - 30 per cent of its usual capacity - in the first mass-attended live indoor theatre even since lockdown.
The show featured Beverly Knight, the singer and actress, and was part of Lord Lloyd-Webber’s ongoing trials of Covid-compliant performances.
He has spent more than £150,000 on measures at the Palladium including temperature checks at the main entrance, one-way signage and self-sanitising door handles.

He’s probably planning to buy one or two himself at knock-down prices, then we’ll get a load of PR about how he did it to save them from being bought by the Chinese. Ego.

An 81 piece orchestra? Perhaps they should’ve played with 14 musicians. I’m sure it would’ve sounded exactly the same...😉
