Wondered if anyone else had caught Roger Lockyer’s contribution to the BBC film Against The Law with Daniel Mays earlier this year. Coincidentally, when I went on a National Trust organised tour of Queer Soho last summer, Roger had been one of the guides. He was a super chap who had boundless stories to tell... Saddened to hear this morning of his death, and thought this might be of interest to some others. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41851871

I read the article too and although I did not know him, I was saddened to read of his passing. I loved the Woolfenden story!!

I seem to remember a history textbookon the Tudors by someone called Roger Lockyer as an A-level set text back in the day. Would it be the same guy?
And I've just clicked on the link and seen it was. Well, I never. You never think of textbook writers are being real people
