Pahahahaha. I've just discovered I've been blocked by a West End 'star.'
Who was your first?? (Cynthia Erivo doesn't count!)

For reference, I dared to say I didn't like something about their post. Nothing blockable by my standards. Are certain performers complete and utter 'snowflakes?' (I hate that word but it really suits here.)

No-one has blocked me as I really don't do social media. If I did, I really would use basically two rules -
1. If you have nothing nice to say - say nothing at all.
2. Don't say anything that you would not be prepared to say to the persons face.
I try to follow those rules on here....which is why, sometimes, if I have seen a show that is just dreadful I will not admit to even seeing it on here! So my "reviews" of stuff are mainly positive if that makes any sense.
However, that's just me. If performers choose to do the "social media" thing (and it is not compulsory) then they have to accept criticism of their views and performances. Most performers use social media to plug their latest show etc. and expect comments to just be a "love fest" of "positive energy" and "mindfulness" and adoration. Life isn't really like that - you cant "block out" the bits of life you don't like! So they live by the sword, I'm afraid they die by the sword. Some of the comments on social media are completely unacceptable of course and that is why (to come full circle) I don't participate.

I've only been blocked by a blogger, and I never interacted with him, so although I have to assume he blocked me because he disagreed with me about something, it wasn't as a result of a direct interaction. Some people are over-sensitive and will block you if they have a disagreement with you, but some people are even *more* over-sensitive and will block you over apparently nothing at all!

Several fans of a certain performer who (that's my guess as I haven't interacted with any of them personally) simply dislike me because I get along with said performer. Or maybe they just dislike me - full stop. I will never know I guess. ;-) Also I only noticed this because I was tagged in a couple of tweets they were tagged in too. Never followed any of them. It would actually make my day (week... month...) if Trump blocked me.

I've been blocked by Tyrone Huntley. Couldn't tell you why, I have no idea myself. Rarely use twitter, and only about the shows I've seen. Having not seen him on anything or interacted with his twitter handle, I can only assume it may be by error.

Am often surprised about how rude people are on social media, and you also see more people than you'd expect goading people to get a reaction. If I was a celeb I'd do a lot of blocking as it must get very wearing - you might think your message is robust but reasonable, but you're ignoring the cumulative effect. If I got blocked by someone for something I'd said directly to them, I'd seriously consider how my words/tone were coming across.

No-one can block me as I don't have a social media presence nor do I visit Facebook or Twitter - or Twitface as I call them.

The Globe once accidentally blocked me while I was working for them.
I'm not aware of being blocked by anyone apart from perhaps a few Trump trolls.

I'm absolutely fine with being blocked, though as far as I'm aware no-one famous has blocked me. Everyone should be curating their own social media experience, and if someone's tweets annoy/upset you, and you don't want to accidentally stumble across them or get dragged into arguing with them, block away.
A couple of Hiddleston fans blocked me over Hamlet stuff (I was admittedly being mean about him when I was very upset about not getting a ticket) and some YA book bloggers did when I tried to explain why a journalist following basic journalistic practices was not behaving unethically. There's probably more but I just haven't noticed them.

I was blocked by Cynthia Eri... oh damn it (she actually did block me). Katie Hopkins blocked me after I tweeted her a stream of mildly offensive one-liners about herself, e.g. "What do Katie Hopkins and a ready meal have in common? They look nice on the outside but are really best disposed of straight away and never spoken of again."

Ever since she did Broadway, she has become abit of a keyboard warrior of always needing to get involved in things that dont really concern her, like the Great Comet controversy. She has a great way of talking people down and if she doesn't agree with you she callsyou out and then blocks you, basically.

Sorry darling... Oh aparently they still stalk the forum then (hey there MrsLovettsMeatPies or whatever you're calling yourself) I don't need warnings becuase I mostly know how to play nicely with others...I've since activated my own block button. Mods I'm sure you'll forgive me a mild personal insult in this instance....what a Tw*t.
