Actually there's a new plot twist for you. Mrs Who gets pregnant and gives birth to a new Time Lord (or Lady). Is she having it with another Timelord?
She/he has a time machine. There doesn't need to be another timelord.

I saw some tweets linking her appearance (the hooded anorak thing) with Bowie in The Man Who Fell to Earth - he was a redhead in that! Roy Batty in Blade Runner is also based on him - his coat echoes the cover of Bowie's Low and his 'incept date' in the movie is Bowie's birthday.

I'm guessing they just needed an outfit to cover up her face for the big reveal. If you could see her skipping through the forest with her hair all blowing in the wind it kind of ruined the suspense. I'm hoping she gets some altogether more glitzy outfits for the actual show. Jodie's really attractive. I see her in something glittery. Like Liza Minnelli at Carnegie Hall.

Karen Walker as the Doctor and Jack as companion would be amazing.

it's going to be great for boys to have that experience Wasn't Peter Purves an original Dr Who companion? Personally, I'm just going to do what I always do with the latest Time Lord. Give it a few episodes and see what happens. I didn't like Capaldi until this series, started off liking Matt until his last couple of series and going further back I never watched more than a few Davison and McCoy episodes because I couldn't stand them. Peter Purvis was a fairly early Dr Who companion - imagine say Pearl Mackie leaving Dr Who and going to Blue Peter these days! First companions were Carole Ann Ford who played Dr's granddaughter Susan who was supposed to be about 16 (but was actually 23 and married with a young daughter), William Russell who is now 92 years old and whose son is Alfred Enoch who played Edgar in the Don Warrington King Lear last year and Jacqueline Hill who sadly died in 1993 and whose husband was distinguished director Alvin Rakoff. I only found out the information about William and Jacqueline having notable stage connections with family members by Googling it just as I had forgotten Jacqueline's name and had to check it up. Both William and Carole-Ann had cameos in An Adventure in Space and Time docudrama starring David Bradley about the beginning of the Dr Who series. In about 2003, I spent a couple of cold hours waiting by a stage door for William to return from between performances of The Tempest in Malvern. The late great Richard Briers was Prospero and he'd told people he'd pop out between shows to sign/do photos so after seeing the show I waited around. Richard duly appeared and dealt with those waiting - always a very friendly guy - sadly missed. I'd only discovered that William was in the show when I'd brought the programme and as the weather was cold and given his age wasn't expecting him to come out between shows. However whilst Richard was signing and chatting a group of the rest of the cast came out and when Richard had finished signing, one of the first people to get him had spotted William and he'd signed. So I knew he was out so he'd got to come back in - I wasn't going to walk around the town to try to find him, that was invading his privacy and I could easily miss him. So I huddled up and waited, ironically the play also starred Michelle Gomez (Missy) and she came back and signed and said why are you waiting in such cold weather, we said we missed Bill Russell and really wanted to meet him as he was original Dr Who. Luckily she said Bill was just behind her leaving the hotel so would only be a couple of minutes and told us to keep warm. Bill was amazed people had waited out for him, signed and thanked us, did a quick couple of photos before having to go in to prepare for evening performance.

I bet Daily Mail readers are still getting over John Barrowman being gay. If anyone is giving Emi abuse on Twitter then I think we should have her back. I may not share a lot of views with her but on this forum we all respect each other's views and should watch out for each other on other social media platforms. That's kind but I've had FAR worse on twitter than a couple of crying fanboys but seriously there was nothing nasty thrown my way.
Oh and do we not get on @hitster ? that's the first I'm hearing of it...well you live and learn sorry about that, I always like your posts and find you to be an interesting/nice person. Sorry that I'm not quite that for you, I do feel genuinely a bit sad about that.
Turns out the reason I was getting a LOT of attention on twitter was Digital Spy quoted my tweet...just under erm Rylan. Accolade indeed.
Emi - when I was talking about not sharing views it was more our political outlook as I'm a Tory Voting Brexiteer and from what I've gathered your views may be the other side of the spectrum to mine. I think you are an awesome poster on here and are a very knowledgeable and passionate supporter of theatre and musicals. Best printable female Dr Who debate I heard today is will she have Sonic Screw Driver or something original. Missy had the Mary Poppins umbrella which became a John Steed like weapon. River Song had Hallucinogenic lipstick. A Sonic Handbag was suggested as the Queen is never without hers, tying to find a sonic screw driver amongst 5 packs of tissues in the handbag was another joke. I'd look to give Jodie something a bit original but still with same power as the sonic screwdriver personally.

I personally feel if they changed the screwdriver they'd be sending a message out to girls that just because the Doctor is now female, she can't handle a power tool. Especially if it becomes a sonic mascara wand.
The Doctor is still the same character after all, and has always had the screwdriver. Missy/The Master has always been a quirkier character who doesn't appear to rely too much on consistency as much as the Doctor, so an umbrella fits well with her maniacal Mary Poppins aesthetic.

I officially got un-followed on twitter for my Doctor Who tweets *bows*
and @hitster oh good to know, and that's totally fine-I 100% respect other people's political views and I see it as totally separate from an ablity to be friendly/engage in theatre conversations, so I'm glad we're fine in that respect- thought I'd accidentally offended.
Also re: the above, unlike apparently some other forum members who can't separate opinions on things and still engage. Ahem.

Female Doctor: fine No Sonic Screwdriver: then I'd be upset! lol I actually worry that Jodie is too young for the part. I feel the Doctor should be older, and the last really young one (Smith) didn't work for me.

Jodie is 35 - so not that young.About the same age as David Tennant when he started. And she's said the outfit in the teaser isn't her costume.

I see there's been some 'lovely' articles by the tabloid press- using pictures of her naked/topless for roles previously. And yeah sure women aren't treated differently.

Twitter has been sharing some gifs of Troughton in his youth, rather dashing he was too! He's fully clothed. Luckily or unluckily depending on your inclinations I guess.

There are quite a few all the Doctors when they were young images floating around the internet. McGann usually comes off best!

Meanwhile the Bank of England is releasing pictures of the new design of the £10 note. Cue early comments on the BBC's website about how having a woman on the note is the worst thing ever to happen to society. (After several hours most of the posters of that sort of comment seem to have found something else to foam at the mouth about, so the later comments are less steeped in outrage.)

WOMEN WOMEN EVERYWHERE I TELL YOU IT'S AN OUTRAGE.
etc etc
What really gets my (space) goat is when it's WOMEN who are outraged. Ladies, we have enough sh*te to deal with from Men (not all met etc etc) hows about supporting one another.

Jane Austen on the £10 note is only a wee victory as far as I'm concerned. The choice of subject seems a bit... patronising? somehow? Like a bunch of elderly men sat around a mahogany table together and asked "so, who do women *like*?", sitting in a stumped silence for a while before the youngest of them (at a tender 55) timidly ventured forth that he believed his wife liked Pride and Prejudice. And don't get me started on the choice of quote-!
