Just a heads up for anyone who was going to either of her remaining shows this weekend. Theyve been called off due to strain on her vocal chords. Mustve been a tough decision to pull 2 massive shows like that.

Gutted - I have a ticket for tonight. Obviously she wouldn't have cancelled if she didn't have to, and her health is more important, but I was so looking forward to it!
Hopefully she reschedules rather than refunding...

Why should she care
And the scheduling is stupid
Many artists have breaks of 3-4 days between multiple dates
Instead she had programmed
28/29 June
And 1/2 July
Hardly sensible for back to back dates
When she already has had significant vocal problems
Like she is an opera singer
😂😂😂
She has hardly ever been the epitome of classy performers

Comments like this regarding class are still discriminatory, despite being scarcely recognised as such. If doesn't usually take long for you to mention the sophistication of a demographic in your posts - I hardly see your point here anyway. It's not like Adele is constantly getting her norks out on stage. |

It's also a huge logistical issue getting the set in and out, sound check, organising security/staff etc. Anyway I saw the tour during one of the first performances, and her voice was spectacular. Like being hit by a wind machine of power. |

She's a fantastic singer but if she's been advised to cancel for health reasons.
The class jibe is nasty and unnecessary.

I was at the concert on Wednesday. She mentioned that she is quite prone to losing her voice and undergo strain on her vocal chords. Still very disappointing for both her and those who waited for months to see this concert.

My friend works for the theatre booths (Encore) and made a lot of commision so the theatre scene at least benefited from disappointed Adele fans, some who had flown over from Melbourne.
It is a hard call, isn't it. Do you do it and disappoint fans with quality of vocal and cause long term damage or do as Adele did and still disappoint people but allow your voice to repair for the futire.

I was there on Thursday and she mentioned that she'd had bronchitis three weeks ago. She pretty much coughed and cleared her throat after nearly every song but vocally she still sounded great.

She has hardly ever been the epitome of classy performers Actually I think Adele *is* a very classy performer. Yes, she might be from Tottenham. Yes, she might not have a cut glass accent. Yes, she may be a little liberal with her swear words. None of which don't make her classy at all. If you've ever taken a moment to watch Adele at work (whether you like her music or not) you'd realise that there's more warmth, style, sheer unadulterated talent and yes, class there than many a performer. |

Personally I think her professionalism in continuing on as long as possible until health risk made her stop indicates shes'a a classy performer. And person.
I also admire the way she's conducted herself in the public eye- she came to fame so young, and as we know that can go badly wrong. However she's quietly conducted her private life out of public sight, not using it for fame etc. She's also a great role model for showing talent hard work and not how you look can get you to the top of your game. Not that Adele isn't a gorgeous girl- I think she is- but she doesn't fit the pop star cookie cutter does she?
And if she was a 'lad' with a regional accent swearing like a trooper I somehow think the reactions would be different.
Such a shame for fans- a few friends went to the first concert and loved it. I hope she manages to find some solutions so she can continue to perform, it would be such a shame for her to give up still so young.

Such a shame for her and her fans. Of course the positive of the situation is that the West End did very well out of it, as mentioned above the ticket booths and theatre Box Offices had much greater walk-up trade than normal.
Best wishes to Adele for a speedy recovery.

Realistically, I am glad she is sitting these ones out.
A lot of younger recording artists have not gone through years of gigging as part of their "training", so whatever sounds great in a room, at a showcase for record companies or in the studio, won't sound great after 6 months in the road. That's not a good thing or a bad thing but it is the reality of the music business now.
Adele's voice changed greatly between 19 and 21 and then after her surgery with 25. With her style of singing, she has to protect what voice she has,
Alicia Keys' voice was decimated as early as 2008. She makes use of her pitchiness on her records as an aural flourish. But it is quite a different thing to hear in concert.
