B.S. is the name of the advertised new work by Nathaniel Martello-White. It is performed in The Site which has been done up. The performance space is not so much a black box as a blue box with blue walls, floor and seating. The RC is selling 46 tickets for each show (about 40 came). There is a small bar next to it.
An email and box office tell you to put your phone in one of the little lockers outside, inside of which is a cast list. They say it will enhance the experience. I did and I cannot see why it would have any effect!
The show has a run time of 35 mins. I won't spoil it, but can say the 3 actors go through a series of repeated (or with some variation) actions. First to a beat, then music and then to news reports and commentary. To begin with you have little clue what is going on, but once the news items are given it becomes clear.
Afterwards the audience was invited to the bar to discuss it with the creatives. I couldn't go, but wish I had. I understood what was going on, but I'm afraid I don't know why. If anyone else goes and has a better insight, do tell!
