...and if it meant that much to those on a low income, they could have started saving £2 a week a month ago when they announced the cast recording!!

I’m not sure how asking it to come out sooner helps people to save money to buy it either?
Does anyone from the target generation even buy albums anymore? Surely everything is streamed these days?

Cassettes are making a comeback? I thought cassettes were only useful for two things: 1) Providing employment for old Bic pens. 2) Creating Gordian Knots inside car stereos.

Saw this recently after missing it at The Other Palace. I really loathed it I didn’t know anything about it beforehand as I haven’t seen the film. I found the songs mostly very same-y and loud. I can’t remember any of them now except Lifeboat, which I liked. But the plot! I found it just offensive. Starting with the ‘joke’ about bulimia and I don’t see how the main plot can be viewed as funny when mass shootings happen in American pretty much every week now. I thought it was often triggering and sick. I thought the cast threw themselves into it. But I just hated the show and considered leaving at the interval. The screaming fan girls were also super-annoying.

All fair points if it was set today, but it quite clearly set in a different time. A time before Columbine, Dunblane and the daily attrocities of the modern world. I don’t really understand what ‘triggering’ is, but surely if you have things that set you off it’s up to you to research what you’re going to see beforehand?

I’m starting to think they meant Christmas 2019 when they said the album would be out before Christmas. I mean they have 4 days left but they’re all weekend/bank holidays so 🤷🏻♀️

I mean they have 4 days left but they’re all weekend/bank holidays so 🤷🏻♀️ The ‘before Christmas’ came from Paul Taylor-Mills so I was always inclined to take it with a pinch of salt, given that he’s not involved in the actual production/mixing of the recording, and those that are (Kevin Murphy, Larry O’Keefe) have been quite clear that they aren’t going to rush it because they want it to be as good as it can be

It’s at this time I wish we didn’t have music downloads just so we could see the fans queuing up overnight to be the first to get the cast recording.

But don’t worry, as there are any number of youtube vidos of spunky young lasses having a crack at ‘I Say No’ to tide you over. 😱

Whoever said the album wouldn’t be out before Xmas! You win To be fair, Paul Taylor Mills was the only person who said it would be out before Christmas. Apart from a few fan girls I don’t think anyone actually believed or expected it to be released before Christmas.

You appear to be new enough to the board so if you ever have questions about things like who individuals are or anything else theatre related don't be afraid to ask. There are an odd few grumpy sods on this but in general we are lovely and more than happy to answer any questions for newbie theatre fans.

I’m quite grumpy, so don’t ask me. I only know ‘Joseph’ and two songs from ‘Brigadoon’. 😂

WHERE IS THIS SODDING CAST RECORDING? Mills? Kenright? Anyone? It feels like they've forgotten all about it! I believed Paul Taylor Mills, on the last night, when he said it would be out in time for Christmas!
