I am an entertainer of 10 and 11 year olds. This year my party pieces are the Tudors, equivalent fractions, the water cycle and exciting adjectives. I have won awards for finding ingenious ways of making 12 functioning light-up circuits with only one working bulb and the batteries from the remote control for the photocopier.

Office monkey for an exam board. Photocopying, data entry, all the glamorous stuff. Which exam board? I temp for Cambridge Assessment. ETA: I remember doing the Cambridge Latin Course for GCSE Latin. @jeanhunt we got as risque as having our Latin teacher explain that in Ancient Greek society all-male relationships were prevelant (well, that was risque for an all-girls former convent school 16 years ago). |

Aw, bless! I was living in Yorkshire during my secondary school years, so my Latin teacher translated exclamations like "hercle!" with things like "byyyyyy 'eck!" To this day, when I'm watching a historical reconstruction or a drama about Roman times and things get a bit heated, I can always hear his voice in the back of my mind! |

I received a classical education with plenty of Ancient Greek and Latin language and literature, so since the age of 14 we used to read very explicit poems about gay love at school. One of the many reasons why I loved high school.

I'm a travel agent for a well known travel company. I have to tolerate being told "You must want to go on holiday all the time working in here" on a daily basis. Yes, Mrs Brown, I do wish I was joining you in Orlando but hey, I got bills to pay!  I love my job really. Plus, I do occasionally sell London breaks with theatre tickets so that always makes me day! Any excuse to talk about musicals. |

Sound engineer on theatre shows. Shows that have/had threads on this board. And no one has slagged off my work on here yet, some even had a glimmer of praise, so I must be doing something right.
Edit: bored to board. I might be in a very boring tech session right now, hence the Freudian slip.

😸 Do you still use Cambridge Latin Course? Loved it Metella Quintus Grumio The dog!!! The slaves and beautiful dancing girls I should have been a Roman in those days In another life Caecilius est in via. :-) Loved that course. Graduated to Catullus at GCSE (but only the clean stuff!). Keep promising myself I'll go back to learning Latin some day, but I'm not sure anything modern will match the humour in that course. I'm a digital content editor/strategist; doing all the obvious comms stuff that entails, as well as driving digital change within organisations. My children both did Latin at their local comprehensive school (yes, really!) and they still used this course along with Kennedy's Latin Primer for all amo, amas, amat stuff! The first book is by far the best (ends with Pompeii) and it does get a bit dull later on when they decamp to England! For the record both also did Latin A levels at local comprehensive, they ran the course even though there were only a very few in the class and the teacher gave up his free periods and taught some lessons after school. Daughter still loves Ovid and insists she can't live anywhere without her Latin books (she's now 27!) |

I had to take an extra GCSE to fit in Latin - unfortunately I had to give up PE lessons (I was heartbroken, ahem) to meet up with the teacher. I think Classics teachers are particularly supportive of their subject! |
