You told me you were a full time Dance Mom I was until I had to go back to work to pay for dancing daughter to become a doctor. (With this post I am rather excited to become a senior member. I hope I now get a bit of respect and a chair to rest my varicose bits on )

Auditor in a bank. Incredibly exciting! (No it isn't but I have to travel a lot - all the time actually - which is nice).

What a gorgeous thread- as someone who is helplessly confused about what to do with herself- it's so nice reading about how much there actually is to do!
Currently a math/computer science first year student (and hating every second of it), was previously in the army for a couple of years.

Director of Theatre at an independent school somewhere in Northern England, I moved from my previous job in the South East recently as I was heading to an early grave if I was to keep going at the level and pace that I was trying to maintain there. Feeling a bit less frazzled now and hoping to join Jan in the ranks of early retirees by the end of the decade, fingers crossed.
Oh, and also, other bits of theatre related stuff, advising etc., but that's generally gratis.
If I had my time again, I'd always fancied owning and running a shop, maybe a second career awaits...

I work for a company that helps people back into work, specifically people over 50. I'm also a foster carer for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home:) Retired at 55. Living the dream. This is a collage post, so there's no need for anyone to screech back: "And what is your point?"

I do anything from underwriting to contractual work to general customer service at an insurance company. Not the most exciting job but it it means flexible working hours and enough money to fund my traveling and theatre addiction.

In previous lives I have been Maths teacher, Market Research Analyst and Product Manager for Mattessons Slices meats (Mmmmm Mattessons!) Since then I have been lucky enough to work as little as possible in perfect jobs. Currently 2 days a week working at Library Headquaters for a Local Authority. I check new book records and find old books from the stack to send out (we still have books from 1800s that we let anyone borrow!) Whisper it quietly but I think I might even do my job if they didn't pay me!

Ive had a couple of jobs that I got that from but they are few and far between

I have a degree in museum studies, but I'm currently working front of house at a West End theatre while I consider doing the irresponsible thing and head back to school in the hopes of doing some stage management training.

If The Globe's BO ask - I'm a socialite Viscountess. Otherwise, I used to work as a translator both for a news agency and free-lance, a part-time pilates instructor for beginner groups/elderly, a volunteer at the marketing department of the only local theatre that stages musicals and a volunteer at an old-people's home (drama workshop facilitator). Nowadays, I'm mostly a lost soul.
