I work for the boys in blue (no not the smurfs) I see that sexism still rules at the Met in the era of Cressida DIck.

It was an attempt at humour which obviously failed on you. It is just that type of comment that makes me think that the theatre board is not as friendly as it makes out to be. Maybe its time for me to bow out as that type of comment really does cut deep when there was no malice behind my post whatsoever. Thanks for totally ruining my day.

Wow thanks guys, I love this! What a diverse group we are, so interesting to read about what takes up most/all of your days. I'm definitely jealous of those of you that are retired but I've only got another 22 years to go...unless the government changes it yet again...so that'll fly by 😱 !
Keep it coming though - my curiosity has not been satiated!

I certainly didn't take offence at that. Granted, we are surrounded by sexism and it is very much is alive and well but on this occasion I didn't feel that.

So, institutional sexism - neither intended nor acknowledged. As I feared.

I'm currently a HLTA in a lower school (the county I live in is one of the last to still operate in a three-tier system) but am currently training to become an art therapist.

Out of work I pretend to write plays (I write them then my crippling self doubt/functioning alcoholism throttles my creativity so I burn them) or spend my life on a theatre forum that feeds into my personal hatred. I do this too, but don't burn them just let most of them fester unfinished on my pc like open wounds mocking me. For money I'm a House Manager at a concert hall.

I work for the boys in blue (no not the smurfs) I see that sexism still rules at the Met in the era of Cressida DIck. The fact that a female has risen to the most senior rank gives a lie to your assertion which, given that this is a light hearted thread is out of place. There, that's off me chest, so lets get back to the fun.

I just finished the second year of my English degree and work part time as a private tutor of Latin and Italian 😸 Do you still use Cambridge Latin Course? Loved it Metella Quintus Grumio The dog!!! The slaves and beautiful dancing girls I should have been a Roman in those days In another life Caecilius est in via. :-) Loved that course. Graduated to Catullus at GCSE (but only the clean stuff!). Keep promising myself I'll go back to learning Latin some day, but I'm not sure anything modern will match the humour in that course. I'm a digital content editor/strategist; doing all the obvious comms stuff that entails, as well as driving digital change within organisations.
