Am heading to London next Tuesday in the evening and am looking to book a show but cannot decide which one to go for. I can't dayseat as I will not be there until the afternoon so am just gonna book!
I wanna catch either Hand to God, The End of Longing, Mrs. Henderson Presents (the first preview) or Nell Gwynn... any recommendations for which one to see.

I'd also vote for Mrs Henderson - and be it for the sole reason that one of us is there and can report back.

Ahaha well that was one of the reasons I was gonna do Henderson... as well as I am a huge fan of the movie.
... feel like I may of just answered by own question. Haha.

I've never seen the movie. Heck, I didn't even know it existed until the musical was announced. I'm mostly looking forward to the show because of a certain Ms Williams, who was away for way too long from a West End stage.

Not just one of us if Daniel Johnson goes as I am planning to dayseat it that day (pure luck it starts previews the same day I am in London). Of course having seen it in Bath and enjoyed it my review may be slightly biased, so probably good to get a less blurred opinion.
If you do go for Henderson Mr J then maybe a mini TheatreBoard meet up?

I think that Mrs. Henderson Presents is gonna be the one for me that night, it seems like the logical one haha! Am gonna have a look at booking though as I can't make it in time for dayseats unfortunately But if I do 100% go, definitely meet up!

I'd offer to nab you a dayseat but my spare is going to my friend who's lending me his floor for that evening.
I'm sure you're already aware, but TM has some offers listed for this show.

Aww haha, don't be silly, its no trouble I am just happy to be going to see the show! like I said before, it is one of my favourite films so I cant wait to finally see it, dayseat or not! I am definitely looking up some offers , like TM and LoveTheatre, but otherwise I am just gonna happily book once I know for sure I can go. But I am so buzzed for it!

I've never actually watched the film, so my first showing in Bath came as a bit of a surprise because they didn't have the advertising about the clothes coming off then. I should watch it, but the trouble now is I'll be wanting the characters to be bursting into the songs all the time.

Well the film actually does have a few musical numbers and dancing, but all in performance mode ala the showgirls and the Bertie character. But it is worth the view for Will Young and Judi Dench if anything, the film is just such a great watch, I really do love it so I hope it lives up to it!

I'm sure I won't be, the cast looks stellar, the two songs I have heard are great and I really like the story itself, unless obviously major changes have been made haha

Yeah it's actually now set in 2012 on the eve of the Olympics and Mrs H is a pole vaulter coming out of retirement for one last hurrah. She 'Presents' herself at the Olympics in search of the gold medal she failed to previously win.
(I don't know why I just came up with that, I think it's too late in the day for me to writing intellectual things on forums)
