I mean fair - I just thought it was a much better performance. I’m going off topic slightly

Danny Burstein is very good casting for Alfred Doolitle. I’m sure once Harry leaves, they’ll cast a name for Higgins

I am so tempted to go back to see this again. Unfortunately looks like I'm now out of annual leave until April :C I'd really like to see Laura.
For me the biggest disappointments in this were Lauren and Norbert's accents so I'd like to see others in these roles. Harry was amazing.

Laura is rocking it one-woman style at the minute. She's so fabulous.

Hardly surprising, she's got a really weak immune system and a small child at home. Goes back in to the old 'you pay for a show, not a meet and greet' thing.
Anyway, theres a beautiful video of her first curtain call on Twitter (i don't know how to link it). I'm so glad she's getting to play her dream role - she's a perfect fit for it (and if she'd have originated it, I think she'd probably have beaten Katrina Lenk to the Tony - I know I've not seen Laura, but I saw Katrina).

Even though she isn't stage dooring she is going to pre-sign a bunch a playbills to handed out at the stage door after the show which I think is really sweet of her to do.

I'm seeing the show in a few weeks so that's good to know, thanks! I certainly don't blame her for not doing the stage door! Really looking forward to this, My Fair Lady is one of my favourite shows and Laura is such a talent.

For me the biggest disappointments in this were Lauren and Norbert's accents so I'd like to see others in these roles. Harry was amazing. I agree Norbert's accent is terrible, he sounds more upper class than Higgins or Pickering! Unfortunately Laura Benanti's isn't much better. She's a great comedic actress and a wonderful singer, but she cannot do an English accent - her Cockney was far too polite (no need to pronounce the t at the end of words!) and her more refined version had a really strange accent to it, it sounded like a Spanish or French native speaking English. The ensemble were mostly pretty poor as well in the accent department, and they pronounced Ascot in a very weird way! Only Higgins, Pickering and Mrs Pearce had solid accents. I wondered if it was just me being the fussy Grit, but the American lady sitting next to me said she thought the accents were dodgy as well. It's a pretty production, the set works well and the acting is generally good, but some scenes were a bit lacklustre (The Rain in Spain) or just messy (the dancing in the Embassy Ball sadly) and I couldn't get past the poor accents. A disappointment overall.

I presume this is coming to the West End next year?
I randomly met someone on Tinder who said they were working on the set for it? Hahaha.....

I was dying to see this after seeing Sher's King and I and Fiddler in NYC in 2015 but Benatti's Macy's Day Parade Performance really turned me off, I just couldn't see any character or arch.
I like the little twists regarding age and the Shaw faithful ending but maybe I'm judging it from a 'concert style' performance that won't match the show.

I’m guessing they’re not planning on closing anytime soon, my guess is that they’ll get a name for Higgins from July onwards

Well, it looks like the show is hitting the road. A US tour has just been announced for the 2019-2020 season.

The US tour was announced last year IIRC I was not paying attention when they announced that, my bad. Anyway almost every show announces they are going on tour but I don't trust that until real dates come out.

I assume she’ll take time off to do the Cadogan Hall concert. That does mean they’ll be a new Eliza and Higgins in July.

For those fans of Laura wanting to catch her on Broadway, I've had a look on the website and got all of her holiday dates listed below. ∙Laura Benanti will not appear in the following performances: Mar 09 - Mar 10 Mar 24 - Mar 28 Apr 27 - Apr 28 Jun 05 (Eve) Jun 28 - Jun 30 Jul 06 (Mat and Eve) Laura exits the show Jul 07th, interestingly a night Harry is off as Higgins. Kerstin Anderson will continue to perform the role of Eliza Doolittle on Tuesday evenings APART from the following Tuesdays, when Laura will perform: Mar 05, Mar 19, Apr 23 and Jun 04.
