After danieljohnson14 's confession that he'd love to play the part of Emcee in Cabaret, it got me to thinking. If there was one role in theatre (musical or otherwise) that you'd absolutely audition for if you were 'in the biz', what would it be?Following some consideration, I think I'd want to be one of Lola's angels from Kinky Boots (if only I had the body!) Sass, glamour and strength all embodied into a character. Over to you.

God dammit, this is such a good question, I have so many, both male and female haha! But, even though I'd love to play the Emcee one day, my dream role is actually a supporting role, and it is Boq in Wicked. Always has been my dream role. If I were black though, I would slay Lola in Kinky Boots.

I've always wanted to play Norma Desmond and Judas. Neither is ever going to happen though, for somewhat different reasons.

Albin in 'La Cage Aux Folles' Good shout. I always assumed until now that Zsa Zsa was your birth name... Maybe not then? Edit: OK, you're clearly male. My bad.

What a great thread!
I have been fortunate to play Emcee in Cabaret, it's a great and hugely demanding role, but go for it danieljohnson14 - very rewarding.
As for me, I was born to play Norma Desmond, trouble is nobody else sees it that way!

Elphaba in Wicked or Eponine in Les Mis.
If I were the right ethnicity, then also Felicia in Memphis or Celie in The Color Purple.

If I had the body, I'd love to play Frank N Furter in The Rocky Horror Show.
Ooh can I be Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors too? When the RHS tour ends?

I know I'm at risk here of going on BurlyBeaR 's block list so I'll whisper this: I have always wanted to play a pantomime dame 'cos it looks fun.

I've also played a pantomime horse (one person) - was fun until I fell off the stage and almost broke my leg. Only saved by the piano, as horse's name was Lightning - the piano was struck by lightning! Did the curtain call with a massive bandage on my leg and 4 more performances before going to physio

If I was the right ethnicity then Lola from Kinky Boots. Other dream roles include Marius in Les Mis, the title character in Phantom of the Opera, and Edna Turnblad in Hairspray.

Definitely either Sweeney Todd or Mama Rose ( both very obvious) they would both be a great challenge to do and I just love gypsy and Sweeney Todd a lot. For a play and less typical I would love to play bottom in a midsummer nights dream.

Are you really Caroline Quentin Polly? Haha, sadly not! On topic, I would love to play Beatrice in Much Ado or Portia in Merchant, but as I can't act for toffee ...

If I was a girl it would have to be Elphaba or Effie White because they are almost everyone's dream roles. I mean come on who wouldn't want to sing And I Am Telling You or Defying Gravity 8 times a week!
But as a boy then I guess Seaweed in Hairspray if I was black or Jack in Into The Woods.

Oh damn, I forgot the mother of them all... Hedwig in Hedwig and The Angry Inch. I mean, long ago, I just accepted that role in my head. One day, I will play that part!

I'm comically weird enough to do Thenardier. Don't have to a particularly strong singer either. Maybe one day.
