Truly soul destroying experience and no end in sight as yet, at least with a queue system you can manage your time more productively rather than hitting a buy now button for 2 hours Sounds as if it was actually *easier* for non-members than members...

I think so - I got mine within an hour and a half this morning, but my colleague who booked last week was online until lunchtime. Maybe non-members are just assuming there aren't any tickets left, and are not bothering to try?

Got first ticket by about 11.30, didn't dare try for a second ticket so bought that and then went back on for another production and have just got that now. I just grabbed what came up as it took so long to load pages that didn't want to risk trying to look at many other dates. People are right there are still tickets left, though as a single buyer a lot of them weren't available to me online, grrrrrr.
Hope everyone else gets through, glad there were other people to share the frustrations with.

Calendar not working (changes month but days don't alter to match). Click 'all availability'. Get kicked out. Repeat ad infinitum. Sigh. That happened to me as well. But I noticed that if I waited a bit the right days eventually showed up in the calendar. Probably the system is too slow to refresh instantly. Anyway, good luck!

Yes, next time I'm going to wait 30mins before trying to get tickets during public booking. System seems to settle down a bit around the 30/40 minute mark - I had the same when booking for the Greeks.

Yep managed to get through this afternoon, after giving up this morning.
Anyone who understand the Almeida system, how does it work with the leaving a solo ticket error message? I only wanted 1 ticket, but it kept preventing me from booking and leaving an empty seat? However, when I finally got through, I bought such a ticket? Random.

The box office staff are able to overrule the system's reluctance to leave a single seat unsold, just one of the many things about this policy that drives me up the flipping wall. Useful to know on a less busy day, as it means you can pop in or give them a call to get the seat of your choice, but probably not as useful to know on a day like today.

Ah cool cheers for that. Yeah would have thought they wouldn't struggle to shift odd seats. There must be other people like me who go on their own to stuff, and will pick up the random seats left unfilled.

Tickets booked for Richard & Oil. Both tickets cost £18. Didn't bother to phone up or book online. I asked the box office to phone me up. Great customer service

Keep trying folks! Just bagged 2 circle seats in Aug. Tried a few Aug dates and went with what loaded first, but £20 £34 and £40ish all available those days still Thank you thank you Jean Hunt for persevering and allowing me to benefit from your tenacity. Bring on the Fiennes

There must be other people like me who go on their own to stuff, and will pick up the random seats left unfilled. As Theatremonkey says there are loads of us on here so must be in the world outside of the forum so it's pretty baffling, Almedia apparently convinced we all go in at least pairs (may explain those joint seats which hit you were you and a complete stranger aren't co-ordinated) and that no one going with company would ever opt to sit apart if it was the difference between going and not going. Every time I book and get a survey from them I moan about the single seat rule but no signs of it going so far more's the pity.

Not sure if someone has already mentioned this but anyone who did not manage to get a ticket will be able to experience the struggle and frustration of trying to book a ticket again soon. Almeida web site says: "There are currently no advance tickets available. We will be releasing more tickets on Wednesday 8 June. A small number of Day Seats will be released at 11am for that day's performance(s). Day Seats are not available for Previews. If you can't queue for Day Seats, download the Today Tix App and enter our official lottery for your chance to get £20 tickets - check back for further information soon. "

I've always wondered that, too. I mostly encounter other single theatregoers, too, so we must in fact almost equal the number of duos etc. That's what I did yesterday for Oil. Was happy someone had made the trouble to call and left me a nice cheap seat.

You can also sometimes trick the website by using multiple browsers, but only if reserving the seat you don't want in another browser doesn't leave any solo seats. It really is the silliest system.

Just seen that this is listed for a screening at my local cinema on 21st July. Did we know about this? Good news anyway.

I've found it listed at one of my local cinemas and it says Almeida Live, so don't know if it will be through NT Live.

Incidentally they don't seem to be sending out tickets for this; you have to pick them up at the box office. Which is a pain if, like me, you bought a couple for your sister and partner's 50th birthday present on a different day to the one you're going on. Presumably my sister can just show my card and pick up tickets?

They sent my tickets, I've got them safely in my ticket folder. It's worth asking them if you'll be at the theatre before your gift giving occasion.

They haven't sent mine yet. I was just thinking I'd need to call them about it.
