excessively posting in one topic Oh dear, I read this & thought: me in the Mischief Theatre production threads. I will try to post there less often. It's just difficult if you want to make another comment a day or 2 later, it's too late to edit your previous post & no-one else has posted in the meantime.

I keep thinking things in here are aimed at me. Paranoia is clearly alive and well. Off topic briefly but I've enjoyed your postings in that thread.

I certainly don't think its cliquey! I've noticed various friendships on the board but have never felt like they have made others feel uncomfortable due to that friendship.
There's obviously been some unsavoury comments made to other users on some threads, Wicked and Funny Girl spring to mind, but its usually by people on their own rather than 'cliques' ganging up on them.

Wallah is "I swear" in Arabic. So your friends misuse is unintentionally correct in one context or another LOL Sorry this is really off topic- but in Hebrew we use Wallah (derived from Arabic) as in "no way!" or "no sh*t!" or "really?" so thats interesting- I never knew that's what it actually meant in Arabic. Anyway this is an interesting topic to skim through- I just know I've been very unactive for a good while- not sure what the reason is though really, because I do read here from time to time...

Gosh, no, I was just plucking examples out of the air, I had no-one particular in mind! Kind of funny that people keep thinking stuff applies to them.

Oh no, I didn't mean that I thought you were directing it at me. I'm not that paranoid! I just meant that I saw it & realised it could be applied to my own posting behaviour.

That's a very good point. I go to more theatre that I wouldn't normally try as a result of tips on this board.

Having been stuck at work for 14 hours today it's telling that I log onto this when I get home, sure I won't to know if there's anything important theatre wise to catch up on but it's also as I like virtually hanging out here and having a chuckle at what people say and stretching my theatre thoughts a bit, I think we're quite a good group really and self manage pretty well.

Cliques will always form on internet forums - has been thus since the time of Netscape and before.
However what is happening here seems to be a small number of individuals who like to comment more on what other people have said and done rather than on the subject under consideration. Becoming too personal is not really a friendly way to behave - at least IMHO.
Yes, sometimes we all bite back harder than we intended. But some (and it is a small number) seem to take delight in it.

It's inevitabley going to getting more clicky/cliquey/cliçeé the more times people meet in the flesh, realise they get on and then further continue their friendship on here.
I mean that IS going to happen
But like the whole Trump thing it's done now so will have to see the eventual effect (affect?) on the board/world.

Never felt the board is cliquey. It gets heated occasionally but hey it's a discussion group.

I've been stuck on top of a volcano at the far side of the world for the last days, but just to throw my two colones in: Nope, I don't think the board is cliquey at all, it's a wonderful little community and I love checking in every day when I can to check what's new in Theatreland and talk to you lovely people on my favourite island and beyond.

The Arenal is fairly quiet these days but he's still good for some lovely hot springs. Going home tomorrow, but at least transferring in Canada this time, so no more worries about US immigration... Anyway, back to topic... or group hugging... or bear hugging... all is welcome...
