If you're going to have stuff like Cracker in the list then series like Callan and The Sweeney and Minder should be in too. I used to like Budgie too.

I, Claudius The Naked Civil Servant The films directed by Alan Clarke for the BBC and ITV (Made in Britain, Scum etc.) were excellent. I've just got the BFI box set of the BBC films and am looking forward to watching...

Matthew McF, Keeley, David Oye and Nicola W. (And of course Harry from the Double Deckers!) Absolutely stonking series. Oh, and who could forget Lindsay Duncan and her explosive handbag!

Have to say I preferred it when Rupert Penry-Jones joined onwards. Really? I found him ok, but a bit bland. Matthew simmers more for me!

It would appear that we seem to have forgotten The Unforgotten and also The Missing is missing from this list.

'Widows' was a classic from the 80's. Dolly Rawlins was a huge character. And now its going to be remade for the big screen starring Viola davis and Cynthia Erivo.
All the Prime Suspects
Messiah (and anything else with Ken Stott in)

The Six Wives of Henry VIII with Keith Michell Abigail's Party Rock Follies For trash, can I add Within These Walls and Beryl's Lot? Out of all the dramas mentioned Abigail's Party had by far the biggest impact where I was living, the next day literally everyone was talking about it from school kids to adults. But it wasn't really a TV drama was it, rather a stage play transferred whole to TV.
