It’s a language school - all year round. Apparently it was over forty degrees today. Luckily the aircon works.

I saw a car at my gym with a sticker saying 'No Jaffa Cakes left in the car overnight' and I wondered if there'd been some kind of Theatreboard hit on Jaffas in Cardiff @theatremonkey I'm looking at you

If I was a betting man, my money would be on Reading to beat Derby 2-1. Right score, but wrong team. Dan Walker probably won't be calling after all, so it looks like it's back to the day job on Monday.

One of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while.

I'm sorry, I totally don't get the joke at all? Can someone explain why it is odd / funny / agitating a response, please? I believe that since they didn't capitalise the letters correctly, they read "ShareaCoke" as "Sharia Coke" rather than "Share A Coke"

Really some people should be thrown out of this country for simply being so utterly stupid.

Am fuming. I’m moving house today and someone offered to help. However, lunch is evidently more important to them so now I don’t know how I’m going to manage (especially in this heat).

Well hope the move went ok and you managed in the heat. Not the best of circumstances I am sure.

I'm looking for some inspiration. Anyone can share their favourite "you can do it!" kind of song from a musical?

Pretty mundane Monday. I did watch and really enjoy Andy Nyman's Ghost Stories (film version) and would be intrigued to know how the play compared.

Thanks for the great suggestions! These will be on my playlist for the weeks to come. I'll also add "Move on" from Sunday in The Park with George.

Yesterday was a day and a half of it both in the 'day job' and 'real job' but I could have weeped at the lady in the 'day job' who brought in a plate of homemade freshly baked scones (and cream and jam) as a 'thank you' to the team. Honestly I don't even recall any of us going 'above and beyond' for this lady, but she just wanted to say thank you. And honestly it was so gratefully received.
On the flip side yesterday was a reason I remember why I'll always be nice to customer service folks long after I depart those jobs (I hope). I ended up (TMI alert) throwing up out of stress in the morning (related to wider life/work stuff not that job), but still had to go back out and put a 'game face' on for 6 more hours. Just a reminder that the person on the reception desk/Starbucks counter is human. And it's totally my job to put that game face on. But it's nice when people are nice and don't push that to the limits.

Oh awful, but well done "Show must go on." Hope you get the relaxed break you need, though. Thanks, alas today all that awaits is the devil's 12-8 shift. I did get at least my Monday choir rehearsal to make things a little better yesterday.

I've just booked a simple two-leg train journey from London to my local station. By booking the two legs separately, the journey has cost me £15.00 in total. Had I not known how the system works, and selected the first through ticket offered, the cost to travel on the very same services would have been a ridiculous £92.20.
At the risk of giving ATG ideas, imagine if theatre tickets for acts one and two were priced differently to those for the full performance.

I can see The Inheritance Part 2 charging significantly more for the second act than the first. People were already booking Part 2 without Part 1 just to see Vanessa Redgrave, it could get VERY silly if they did split bookings like that.
