I almost died from cold waiting for the bust today in -23. So I think people in London have no right to use "c-word" aka "cold" in their vocabularies! You know nothing of cold. And snow. dreaming of April, as this is probably when it will melt. Moscow or Petersburg, Stasia? Moscow, but it currently minus twentysmth in St Pete as well. I have no ide how people cope in colder areas. But I seriously feel that my contacts are freezing

I'll stop complaining about the London cold then! Currently waiting for an electrician to do a load of work at my new house, which is boring, but on the plus side means a day off work!

I'm currently hoping and praying that a potential business client has forgotten about the meeting he scheduled for later this afternoon, so I can watch the football in peace at 5.30pm with my friend (our teams play each other in the cup tonight). Waiting for a response to my inquiry about the meeting. And otherwise wasting time online instead of working. Meh.

Currently waiting for an electrician to do a load of work at my new house, which is boring, but on the plus side means a day off work! the problem with London is that lots of premises there don't have "normal" heating and proper windowframes so it is cold inside as well as outside. It least in Moscow my room is so warm I don't have to wear layers as when I'm staying in London in winter.

It's suddenly become very dark in London after being gloriously sunny about 10 minutes ago - looks as if a downpour is imminent! Glad I'm curled up on the sofa and don't have to go out again today!

Having a day off before throwing myself back into my photography business. Hoping for some snow to take some decent snow photos.

Today has seemed to have gone on forever, and there's still another half an hour before I can go home. Probably my fault for going out last night - I went to see Jeremy Hardy at the Amersham Arms in New Cross and didn't get home until half past midnight, had a great time but my enthusiasm to do anything today has been almost non-existent.

(I spent a few months in St Petersburg as a student - we arrived late March and there was still some snow on the ground...)

@jeanhunt we usually have snow till mid-April. I definitely remember snowing on April 20, 2015 when I was travelling to the airport heading to Macedonia. Wearing winter coat in the morning and a t-shirt in the afternoon. So I am truly jealous thinking of wonderful London weather

It's 1:34 p.m. in NYC and I haven't had lunch yet AND I am mad about politics (par for the course for the past few months), so I'm going to get food now!

Set off for a 1 mile walk down to the village Post Office for some milk, it was so lovely we ended up walking 8 miles... The joys of being retired and moving to glorious Wales!
'waves' - Hi hulmeman... Annie R from the DC board!

I learned that I lose all navigatory faculties when confronted with the one way labyrinth in the City. A 40 min cycle ride turned into a nearly two hour expedition - both ways. I ended up way to late for a work meeting, and was utterly thrilled when I finally made it back home.
On the plus side, St Paul's was pretty (completely out of my way) and I managed to find the cycle path on Regent's canal on my way down. I also saw a large number of delicious looking street food stalls, which I'm unlikely to ever find back.

Spent the evening trying to find my summer clothes - not easy when I only moved house this weekend, and can't find quite a few things! Threw everything I could find in the washer, and will pack tomorrow. I've written a short list of stuff I need to buy, and am really looking forward to my winter break in the Canaries from Friday. 20 degrees C, and Ron Chernow's 800-page Hamilton biography, here I come!!!

I tried to read that book on a beach last summer too... made for some great naps. Ahem. Seriously, good luck and don't feel bad when you start skipping the financial stuff. I had bought the e-Book version for Kindle and when I saw the original book at the Hamilton house in Harlem at last, I was a bit shocked at just how much of a doorstopper it was. I'm off to the sunshine in two weeks but I don't know yet what to take, reading material-wise.

I feel like seeing a musical tonight. Deciding between a school of Rock, Motown or Half a Sixpence. Any thoughts?

School of Rock and Motown are both good times. Haven't seen Half a Sixpence yet.
I booked the day off work as I'm getting a new bed and wardrobe delivered today. I scoffed at the email telling me the wardrobe might be delivered between 7am and 8pm, fully expecting to be sat in all day waiting, but got up and dressed by 7am anyway. They phoned at 7:30 am and were here by 8am. First time that's ever happened!
Bed should be here by lunchtime. Hopefully will have them both put together by the end of the day (Dad is coming round to help) and then we can go out for dinner.

One of my colleagues got confused and thought I was leaving today instead of tomorrow (wishful thinking? ) and got her class (mine from last year) to present me with loads of cards and messages.....so now I am an emotional wreck and still have to face tomorrow.

By the way, when a flat pack says it will take an hour for 2 people to put together, it's lying.
