From TFL website: A possible strike will affect Tube services from 18:00 Sunday 5 to 11:00 Wednesday 8 February 2017. Full info (including useful graphic of the projected timelines): tfl.gov.uk/campaign/tube-strike?intcmp=35779Makes my trip to Promises Promises on Tuesday an interesting prospect... long show/last train combination probably means a 4 mile power walk to station! And I see the central London hotels are profiteering nicely... £150-£180 for a Travelodge, no thanks! |

According to the Evening Standard... more than 3,000 RMT station staff, in the ongoing dispute re job cuts and the closure of ticket offices.

Elephant and Castle (2 minute walk from Southwark Playhouse) is a major bus hub, and that time of night they shouldn't be too busy. So you should be able to catch a bus for most of your journey. |

Thanks firefingers - yes, there's a bus goes all the way. But I recall a past tube strike where the traffic was still gridlocked through central London at theatre turn out time. If that's the case this time, I'll miss my train, so foot power comes into play!
However, people's experience of the January strike (which I dodged) give me more hope that the tube itself may be an option.

Ugh this is getting ridiculous now. My sympathy for the staff who are striking is less than minimal given I hardly ever see any of them doing anything as it is - was in Chancery Lane yesterday, three of them were standing on the gate line doing absolutely nothing and complaining they were short staffed! No-one on the platform or helping tourists with tickets. It's ridiculous.
Walk to work again for me then...

Looks like I'll be doing another walk back to Kings Cross from the West End on Sunday evening after The Comedy About A Bank Robbery's cast change show. Jolly hacked off.

RMT are more determined to strike than the other union so I'm not holding my breath that it will be called off. Last months was a nightmare with all zone 1 stations closed so nothing went into town. This one is going to have a hold from Sunday right through until Wednesday midday. So you can virtually right off 3 days next week.
Thats another 4 hours travelling every day for me!!
