Would really help if you could see approximate availability - eg just "sold out" or "limited" for individual productions without having to join queue, possibly in vain.

Got my Yerma tickets as a Friend, thought I'd wander on now and see about How to Win at History, and I'm no. 1113...

I've been in the queue twice today - both times the "countdown" has frozen, I've had to reload the web page and start again. Currently number 453

It's just farcical - even the NT new season booking is nothing like that & the NT has more spaces & surely a much larger public?

Tried and failed to get tickets for Yerma, but I notice that the Young Vic website now says it will be on NT Live in August, so I guess a trip to the cinema is the best that can be done!

Yes, I presume the queueing software has been bolted on to an ageing website and booking system. It's not ideal but better than the days when the site would crash totally.

I'm amazed it's still going two days later. Once again I just want to look something up, what are the 169 people ahead of me in the queue doing?

I booked a couple of shows during the Friends booking, but wasn't sure about How To Win Against History, especially as the tickets were £20 for the date I was looking at. However, had a change of heart so went on today (short queue about 5 - 10 minutes) and looked at booking again. Noticed that all tickets are only £10 for the first couple of performances, so that decided me and am going the first Friday. As may have been mentioned on here, both Nina and Yerma seem to be sold out, but looks like there are tickets for most other things. I'm going then, too - might see you there! Hoped to book for Yerma but it's sold out - going to keep an eye on the website and hope for returns.

I came home last night to emails from Almeida and Young Vic telling me the season was now open, just as well everyone on here tipped me off!

The system I found to be pretty reliable and fair this time round.

One wonders if they hire extra server capacity for the first day and allow extra numbers on which they stop paying for on day 2/3 and decrease the amount of people allowed on the site. Maybe that's why there are still weirdly high queues.

From my experience on day one they certainly don't have extra capacity, or if so, still far too little.

One wonders if they hire extra server capacity for the first day and allow extra numbers on which they stop paying for on day 2/3 and decrease the amount of people allowed on the site. Maybe that's why there are still weirdly high queues. My assumption is the queuing number they show you is just a number, not the actual accurate number of people. On the whole their system seems fair but it is stupid to restrict access to the entire website, they should put the booking part on a separate server, and also the payment system seems to be compromised by the server arrangement they have, it hung for ages after I had paid before returning me to the main website for confirmation. However, this is all much better than the Almeida who at one point had the payment system on the same server as the booking system so you couldn't actually pay for seats in your basket. I have some thoughts on the NT Friday Rush approach and limitations but I won't share them because I want to retain my edge when booking against you.
