Following a brief discussion on the Gaslight thread in Plays, I've started this one and here, so as not to go too far off-topic elsewhere.
Theatremonkey has already posted about the closure of some regional ATG group booking offices and the adverse impact of that on staffing and customers; some people have also noticed both a considerable rise in ticket prices recently, combined with the virtual disappearance of any offers for members, whether online or by email.
The only offer I have seen for months was on Twitter and when I checked, applying the code actually made tickets more, not less expensive for members.
Has anyone any idea why; has this affected other people's willingness to book - and is anyone aware of any deals available by other methods, please?

I think their email system is all messed up anyway. Sometimes I get booking confirmations, other times I don't. Sometimes an offer, or news, then nothing for months.

Thank you, Theatremonkey - I thought you would be able to shed some light, though this isn't good news for members' finances!

What also may contribute, is that ATG appear to be moving to an "inside fee" set up, so where before a ticket would've been £40 + £4.90 fee (members paying just £40), it's now £44.90 with no booking fees, the same for everybody, member or not.

Which negates one of the benefits of having an ATG card.

I guess transaction fees are still being saved, but up to 4x booking fee and a transaction fee is a much better discount than just one transaction fee.

I am sorry This is just not correct Yes I agree there has been some pricing increasing for the ATG venues over the last 2 years But on the same forum where people are happy to pay £200 for Hamilton we need to ask if they are being just and fair overall and why some people have such double standards for ticket pricing I recently booked for several regional ATG shows Including Gaslight Modern Millie Addams Family Crucible ATG used to have a wonderful half price first night offer for almost all shows for theatre card holders which seems to have by and large vanished now However all the above shows I booked with my ATG login gave me discounts of at least £10 and up to £20 off the normal ticket prices as well as no booking fee There were also a number of Earlybird booking offers available So there were several discounted options I don't think I paid over £18 for any of them

Brexit.
I am in Central London right now and January is the traditional graveyard month as everyone is skint from Christmas and the tourists have gone home, but with the weak pound. London is packed to the gunnels, I have seen several house full signs out and hardly any deals at the booths the TKT's. Covent Garden and Leicester Square are chock-a-block, normally you can walk through these places with ease.
ATG are just taking advantage of favourable market conditions and do what they do best and exploit them as much as possible by pushing up ticket prices, heavy booking fees and their tacky box deals and seat back menus.
If as what has been reported on here is true and I have to pay fees with my ATG card, then I will simply cancel it
