I was very impressed by this BBC documentary on Saturday evening being a life long fan I am somewhat biased I admit but it was a fitting tribute to the man including lots of insights and some ultra rare footage ( including from the Diamond Dogs tour which I always thought was never filmed ).
Documentary making at it's best.

I wasn't much taken with The Next Day album so shied away from Blackstar, but the insights made me want to listen to both, because I feel like I have more understanding now of the drive behind them. At first hearing, the songs seemed just a bit repetitive and tuneless. So when I get a spare moment...
