Most of them are really not at home with this style of singing. Far too proper!

Still think Jonnie is the best in the show. Shame his fate is tied to a group of 4 others instead of having the chance to win on his own merit.

They will have been put together with a winning band already in mind long before the live shows. The chosen ones will be subtly favoured with song choices, routines etc and only an accident like the one that got Jodie Prenger her win will change the desired outcome.

It does seem that those with the most theatre experience are sailing through - which is how it should be really.

Even Cam Mac describing Jodie Prenger as "matronly" wasn't enough to dissuade the viewers from voting for her. Still, Jessie Buckley hasn't done badly; in fact, she's done a great deal better...

Not winning was probably the best thing for her. She got to go off and train properly, instead of being pushed into performing full time prematurely.

Cam Mack did himself no favours with his behaviour towards Jodie. The people voted to spite him - and chose the person who most closely matched what they wanted from a Nancy. A traditional choice - but it worked.

Agree about being put together in groups was very much pre planned. Although Graham Norton did say that it was a random draw selection. Yeah right!!!! Group 1 for me and end choice group 5

Group 1 for me and end choice group 5 You know as much as I love Alexis in it seen him on stage. I guess the choice now is as a group rather than an individual? So I thought the same thing group 1 and group 5. Bet we can lay money on (if its groups) it will be between 1 & 5.

That was quite fun, some of the choreography was excellent (loved the opening number) and some of it didn't really work. I don't think Kaiser Chiefs The Musical would be a hit, do you?! Mind you almost impossible to dance to, that group got the short straw. Most of my favourites got through, though a few pretty boys were chosen over better singers. I'm disappointed that they are going to be in fixed groups from now on though, as my ideal would involve mixing them up. I'm hoping there might be some wild-card swapping or something. Agree that groups 1& 5 are the ones to watch. I felt very sorry for James Bourne of Busted. They asked Charlie for comments after their performance, and mentioned Matt being in Wicked during a VT, but no mention of James writing musicals at all.

So do we know how it works now? The boys stay in their groups and one of those groups is picked as a whole to win? Or they mix and match from the 5 groups to find the 5 boys they want? Quite enjoyed last night as it happens! But yes, some of them really drew the short straw and some of them didn't stand a chance. Thank goodness they've put all the pretty boys through, eh....!

The website where you can pre-register to vote says "vote for your favourite band" So, at least for now that seems to be the system.

I thought the opening number was hideous. Ok it was big, you should be able to make something look spectacular with 40 plus people on stage, but WTF was Minogue doing in it with one of Latoya Jacksons hats on? Striding around barking out statements in that whiny, nasally voice. Dreadful. Also, the tops coming off was cheap on every level.

The tops coming off was hilarious. Did you notice they popped back on later too?!

Because the musical will be a new show I wonder if they will pick from the boys that are there now, who will be covers for the final 5. Because obviously they will have covers for the show.

I haven't watched the series, but from what I've heard the band aren't the stars of the show.

Agree with so many of the comments above. Here are a few of mine for what they're worth.
A really well produced TV show - with star turns and a variety of music. Beverly Knight was fabulous!
But the format is a very poor way to cast a show. Clearly a HUGE amount of thought had gone into which boys were in what groups - far from random. So it was fairly clear who the 3 boys were that were going home. But now as these groups seem to be "fixed" it is clear some boys chances will be none existent if they happen to be in duff group and of course, weaker boys could go through if they happen to be in a strong group.
Conflicting advice regarding "working as a group/team" and "shining as an individual" - very difficult to achieve.
The boys merely backing "the star" did little to show off their ability - the camera too focused on the star turn and Lulu being over excited.
The lads that had the Kaiser Chiefs were stuffed with the choice of music. So I suspect in the live shows the choice of music will manipulate the voting public into picking the "right" band.
So an entertaining TV variety show but a complete mess of a format - does anyone know what is going on? It seems they are making it up as they go along.

Presumably they're not contracted during the heats otherwise people wouldn't be walking when they got a better offer. Although I imagine there'll be the usual skeletons in closets that are best dealt with by letting soneone go.
