Five To Five were the best band on the night (helped considerably by decent song choices), but there were a couple of good singers from each of the other two bands, so I hope they get something out of being on LIS.

With a lot of these shows it is probably better NOT to win. One Direction and Susan Boyle spring to mind as does Jessie Buckley who did not win the I'd Do Anything Nancy search but has forged a successful acting career. TV exposure is valuable as no doubt agents are watching the show and will sign up guys who they think can work and put them forward for roles. The "right" band won but felt a little sorry for them in that I felt it was like applying for a job that you had no idea what it even was or what it entailed. I (and I assume them) did not even know it was a touring show to start with and rather assumed it was going straight into the West End - perhaps after a tryout somewhere. As I have said before the chances of seeing all 5 guys at one performance will be slight, given injuries and holidays - 5 x 4 weeks holiday is 20 weeks straight off where they will not all perform together and one even hurt himself during the show! In shows like X-Factor, winners have tended to disappear pretty quickly, but that hasn't happened with the Casting Show winners - they're all still doing well. Also, other contestants (e.g. Jessie Buckley, Sam Barks, Daniel Boys and Rachel Tucker) have also got successful careers as a result of being on the shows. It helps that these shows have always had a realistic and achievable aim for their contestants - careers in Musical Theatre with the possibility of branching out into other areas of performing (non Musical Theatre/TV/film), rather than the 'instant fame/stardom' promised by the likes of XF, which tends to fizzle out pretty quickly. I do think LIS suffered from the musical and the roles being so vague, unlike the Maria/Joseph/Nancy/Dorothy shows, where we knew the musicals and the roles being cast. It also didn't help that there were so many contestants - I was still struggling with individual names in the final! It might have been better if they'd had a similar format to Popstars: The Rivals, where the contestants who made the live shows performed and were voted on individually, with the five left standing in the final becoming the 'band'.

Completely agree with this. I only knew about half the names. Whereas in the ALW shows you knew everyone by name because there were I think 10 contestants in the live shows and one had to go each week until they arrived at a final with 3 individual contestants. With LIS you couldn't really connect to them because there were still 15 contestants in the final, which is way too much. It would have been much better if they had just picked 5 individuals at the end. That way they wouldn't have had to get rid of a few great performers like Jason.

In all seriousness, I sincerely hope that they will consider doing another series more in the style of the ALW shows. Whether it be with ALW again for Evita or Cats for example, or with Gary Barlow to cast one of the leads for Finding Neverland? That way we'll at least get theatre singers singing theatrical songs instead of some of the amateurs we got now. Actually you also got some amateurs in the ALW shows, but at least they were good.

Now hearing the concept of the show, it is clear why they haven't done an acting test - they will just be performing as a band not really part of the story. Did you all really think the band would be required to act but that this hadn't occurred to anyone involved in producing either the musical or the tv show?

Just watching this now with no interest in who might win whatsoever... OMG, this is carcrash TV at its best! Peter Kay you saved the say in more ways than one. Mel has tried to take the piss as best she can but she's really suited to a much gentler form of piss-taking, like having a pop at Paul Hollywood on Bake Off. Seeing Graham Norton upstaged by Honey P was priceless. We could even see the scowl behind his facial hair... Michael Ball, I used to love you; Alfie Boe you were great in the role at the O2, but gawd almighty, listening to you two warbling the guts out of that magnificent score to what could have only been the Korean cast backing track was truly miserable. Who cares about the winners? Peter Kay, we need another Geraldine programme!

They always put the other two bands in dark clothes with five to five in bright colours, it was clear they were the favourites from the start for me. Especially when the "I'm injured" sob stories came out. "My body can't cope with all this" try eight shows a week sunshine!
But then you hear it's just a boy band they're after and it starts to make a little more sense.
