Pretty disappointed at the Amex allocation for The Visit. Have specific seating requirements (an aisle and NOT the Olivier circle) and nothing available for previews. I have largely given up on the NT and trying for tickets to this has stiffened my resolve!!!

Entry Pass booking very smooth this morning - I got through the queue immediately and booked my favourite seats on the dates I wanted for all 4 new productions.
I’ve noticed that in the past few booking periods I’ve gotten through the Entry Pass queue much quicker than I used to a year or two ago. I wonder whether demand is dying down or if I’m just getting luckier with age?

Was very lucky this morning. Ended up with a low queue number (~30s) and managed to get some decent cheap seats for Welkin and Seven Streams of River Ota. The seat selection definitely felt better than for the Advanced Booking last week. When I finished my transaction a few minutes ago, there were still some £30 tickets for River Ota. They are mostly in the slips, but a few dates had £30 seats in the first few rows. Good luck to everyone still looking.
edit: One minor thing for anyone looking for tickets. The price range shown in the 'change date' drop-down menu on the webpages for specific shows is wrong. It looks like they order the seat prices based solely on the first digits, so if a performance has £30, £90 and £125 tickets left, this is written as "£125 - £90" instead of "£30 - £125".

Joined late, got straight through, and got a ticket for the only date I could make for the Welkin. Could have got a £20 one but don't really like the slips. So settled for £35 in middle of the circle which is fine for the moment (and see if anything better pops up in the Friday rush next year).

Just got (admittedly, the cheapest) tickets for both The Visit (my first Jerremy Herrin production, which I am dying to see!) and The Welkin and couldn't be happier. What a great start to a Friday morning!

The seat selection definitely felt better than for the Advanced Booking last week. It did - there were some £15 stalls for The Welkin which weren't there for Advanced. Btw, what is the pattern for these? What I saw when I got in after 10 mins queue suggested they hold back maybe 4, two on each side of the stalls, and the slips on the circle, or are there more if you get in earlier? I did't see any on advanced booking.

I don't recall seeing any official announcements, but the cast for The Antipodes is now up on the NT website and it's quite the collection of names - Conleth Hill, Arthur Darvill, Hadley Fraser, and (my personal one-to-watch at the moment) Fisayo Akinade to name just a few! www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/shows/the-antipodesWalked past dressing rooms earlier with exactly those names on each door Jus sayin ...

I'm keen to see what's on ntlive in the early part of the year. Nothing announced for after Christmas, as far as I can see.

"The membership will be active from today, which will allow you to take advantage of Premium member booking for our new productions due to go on sale later this month (look out for an email announcement next week)."
Which suggests deffo this side of Christmas.

This was a personal email which didn't seem automated to be fair.

I concede that that was probably a leftover from another email. Gotta love email templates

Manor sounds fun but nothing else is really jumping out at me.
Wonder how Simon will make R&J four hours long.

Manor – written by a Buffini, directed by a Buffini, and isn't the Chair of the National a Buffini too? All part of the same family?

Manor – written by a Buffini, directed by a Buffini, and isn't the Chair of the National a Buffini too? All part of the same family? I was amused at the statement in the NT brochure which said "Writer Moira Buffini is reunited with director Fiona Buffini for the first time since the acclaimed Dinner." I immediately thought "Writer Moira Buffini is reunited with director Fiona Buffini for the first time since the acclaimed Christmas Dinner where they had a big falling-out over who did the washing-up" (Disclaimer: I actually don't know if they are related or not) [Later edit: according to this article they are sisters: www.whatsonstage.com/manchester-theatre/news/buffini-handbagged-revived-new-vic-theatre_49598.html ]
