The upcoming shows all sound very interesting and I have to say I really love the poster design for each show, especially Julie.

So I've decided to renounce my Priority Membership because AMEX (the fools!) have given me a credit card. Are Amex Dates the same as public booking dates or is there an advance? Amex is a day (or two?) before public, it's extremely rare it gets you access to any of the decent cheap seats though. It's best for if you're flexible on how much you spend on a seat, or if you want a guaranteed allotment of seats. You do get 10% off in the bookshop though. I should have done my research! I found some cheap Nine Night tickets so I got complacent!

I am getting a real sense of deja vu from the National's programme. Amadeus, Translations, Anthony and Cleo, Absolute Hell, MacBeth and now War Horse. On the horizon is the return of Follies. Maybe I have been going to the National too long. Or are they trying to make up for a dismal summer in the Olivier by revisiting their greatest hits?

It's also just been announced that Macbeth will embark on a tour from September, starting at The Lowry, although it doesn't say if it will be with the same cast. I suspect not given the length of the tour and I can't imagine Rory Kinnear and Anne-Marie Duff committing to that. www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/shows/macbeth for the full listing of the tour.

Just booked my tickets (priority membership) and have to say that it was unexpectedly painless. In the past I've faced all those very familiar problems with the website crashing but this time none of that. Waited for about 25 minutes in the waiting room (there were about 3000 people in front of me at the start). Made me feel less resentful about the membership fee - although to be fair we've had our value out of it not just with booking shows but also with the Christmas party for members (daughter was very excited to see the model box for Follies and some of the costumes). And, independent of membership, the courses for teenagers that the theatre offer are really good and clearly heavily subsidised so I'm OK about chucking a bit of money at them.

I couldn't get online at the opening of booking so logged on at 9.10am UK time... was at over 8000 in the queue. Have so far got down to 7381 but "the queue is paused".
To be fair, I've generally had good NT booking experiences but this doesn't seem like one of them...

Feeling guilty now n1david bc. Hope you get through soon. It clearly is quite random - I only remembered about the booking at 8.20 am and so opened the site then. I clearly was lucky.

When I was in the queue there were about 2000 in front of me and I got to the front at 9. Was quite easy for me but if you want £15 tickets for the Littleton quit England limited m there were none for The Lehman trilogy. I was Moreno worried about the snow effecting my internet.

Also in a queue! It's the first time I've tried priority booking for a while (motivated by SRB obvs) so it's quite nice to see it's still getting punters - I've started thinking of it as a ghost town based on recent experiences.

Joimed the queue at 8.20, number 3800 or so - got to the front at 9.15. The Lehman Trliogy seems very popular

Came in at around number 5000 - finally got through about 9.15am (luckily I'm on a snow day so more relaxed than the usual answering calls/sending emails and trying to remember about not closing the booking tab). However not a whiff of cheapies for the Lehmann Trilogy and current financial circs mean I'm risk averse to expensive tx even if it is SRB. Guess I'll be trying the Friday rush...

I assume Lehman will go into the next booking period as well; it's a very short run otherwise.

It seemed to take a lot longer this morning for me to book tickets at least 50 minutes waiting in the queue, despite this I still managed to get tickets

I've had too many dire experiences with NT Priority booking in the last year to believe their claims to have fixed the system and I HATE their stupid "queue within a queue" feature, as you can't try for a different date without having to queue separately each time. So I'm glad it sounds better for most today but am still heartily relieved that there was nothing to tempt me.
