I suppose each person works out, by trial and error, a system which suits her/him. I know when I worked nights I was fine doing things throughout the next day; it was stopping that would cause a problem, so I didn't, and exercise seemed to work as a sleep substitute. But for me having alcohol at any time would increase the likelihood of nodding off, so I certainly couldn't risk it if I was already tired or had a late night ahead. Can't do it quite as easily myself now, though when I do nighttime walks I tend to be up for around 40 hours, I guess adrenaline kicks in

I think you're right about the adrenaline, infofreako, and of course if you're walking or doing anything else physical, that helps, whereas at the theatre, where you're sitting still and usually in the dark, the production needs to hold your attention anyway to counteract those conditions and all the more so if you're tired.

Is the West End Wilma quiz on 2nd July an opportunity for a meet up? See pinned thread.

Sunday mightn't be ideal for some (not speaking for myself anyway as quizes are anathema to me), but I'm sure there'd be some takers.

I'm fading by then! Seriously, how do people who travel a long way &/or queue early for a day seat then stay awake for the performance itself - and the trip home? I used to sleep on the coach both ways and spend a lot of time mid-afternoon curled up in a cafe somewhere with a lot of coffee. Now living in London I can go and sleep in my bed! Or else dayseat for a matinee and then be home by about 7 for an early night. My general rule is not to do two shows in one day if I'm dayseating!

I don't arrive in London until 16 July so I'm sure I will miss any meet and greet. I think I may have a seat next to a forum member the night of my first London play. You will probably read about it in the Bad Behavior at a Show thread. "I sat next to a fat American woman who positively vibrated in her seat ALL through the performance and I swear I heard her squeal at one point"

You could always just pick somewhere and agree to meet there the first Saturday of each month, or such.

I picked up the baton on the last one. A date was mentioned in mid June but that was pages ago.
What dates are people free in June and July? Maybe from that we can find a most suitable date
How many are planning to go to either day of west end live?

I think West End Live would be a good shout.
I know we've done Wicked cast change once already, but if there's a lot of people going to that then it may also be a good shout.

We are lacking leadership. Admins? I think you'll get more commitment from folks if it's organised by the membership. As soon as you pick a date I'll do everything possible to publicise it though.

I'd say west end live is the best near future option. I certainly think there will be plenty of us in the Victoria area for wicked cast change too. @burlybear. Shall we publicise a west end live meet then we have a month roughly to fill in details

Okay I'm gonna take the lead on West End Live. Do people want to meet at a pub for breakfast pre-WEL or just gather in there? I'm talking Saturday.

Spoons at 9.30 what do we think? There's ore opposite the Phonix and one up near the Aldwych - or any better options?

Spoons at 9.30 what do we think? There's ore opposite the Phonix and one up near the Aldwych - or any better options? I'd be up for that but (I think) you might have to do earlier. Firstly, no one will drive right on time and even if you allowed 45 mins for all to arrive, order and eat- that's then 10:15, you've gotta walk down to Leicester Square and although fast moving once the gates are open, that queue is friggin' huge! Also, don't forget to factor in those who don't live in London and get up at some horrendous time in the morning whilst it's still dark to catch coaches into London for the event. Also add it heightened security measures and beg checks, etc....

I'm hoping to go Saturday as usual but I join the queue as early as possible. - Will look out for people wearing badges in there-
