I think they should do confessions of a theatre. By this I mean they do confessions from every strand of work in the theatre like ushers, managers, FoH staff etc. and do this twice a month.
Then we get a sense of what working in a theatre is like from all aspects of work

Then we get a sense of what working in a theatre is like from all aspects of work I can do that for you. It's pretty dull, except when it isn't. But for most of the times when it isn't, we can't talk about (in public anyway). The industry seems to be a real mix of complete arseholes and the nicest people you could possibly meet, and it is always surprising just how far the arseholes can get and how good their work can be. It can be very monotonous, but varies massively from show to show. A good company can do wonders to keeping spirits high when doing the same thing 8 (or even 12) times a week. Oh, and the money usually varies from sh*t to exceedingly sh*t. But I love it and after 3 years working in theatre I just couldn't work in any other industry.

I'm a freelancer. Finished my most recent contract a couple of weeks ago. Currently in preproduction (paperwork, planning, procrastinating) for an Off-West End musical. Have three different shows in the diary from now till the end of the year, having already worked on 4 different productions already this year.

Anyone seen the latest instalment? At first I thought it could be Hand to God, then it said 'good reviews' and 'dreary' so it can't be? Any other suggestions - it's a play that has closed 6 weeks earlier than planned.

We do not know if these stories are current. There is no indication it is about a presently running show.

I don't see it any more. WoS blocked me on Facebook for advertising TheatreBoard on their posts haha.
It was always incredibly dreary and badly written though. And that closing "hey, nobody died" definetly leaves the reader wanting less.

I once booked tkts for a show at Stratford East. I didn't think I was dyslexic but I was sure I read it was a "sing" show but it turned out to be a "sign" show. It was very good actually.

The only recent mistake I've done was booking a show for the wrong day but only realised when I got home. But I can get them changed.
I have been in a situation at Young Vic. When I booked my tickets for Measure For Measure at their Box office they didn't print the tickets there. They gave me a recipt to pick them up on the day. But you couldn't pick your seat you paid to sit in an area. So the day of the performance I went to YV got my ticket checked the sit it was row C at the side. Going into the theatre went to sit in my seat and there were two ladies one sitting in my seat. The woman looked at me and started saying that she had the same seat. So the usher came over and looked briefly at her ticket and said because of the way the bookings are done sometimes seats are double booked. I went with the usher who consulted with another usher. Then went back into the theatre because they didn't know what to do. The two ladies still there saying they booked ages ago one asked to look at my ticket. Yes it was for the 7:30 show in that seat (I forget the number I think C5). Then she looked at hers again only to discover her ticket was for the 2:30 show earlier that again. She was really rather embarressed. She thought she booked for evening not the matinee. I have no clue if her & her friend saw the show. But it's the only situation like that I've been in.
