So, as the big day comes ever closer, parties occur and retail stores go into melt down I just want to take time out to wish you all a Merry Christmas. I've no doubt that some of may be travelling distances (within the UK or abroad) to meet up with family or loved ones. As you all know by now, I am from Australia and am from a large Mediterranean family (my father is one of eight and mother is one of six) so am used to a big crowd at this time of the year. But fear not my fellow board members, I will not be alone. My sister who now lives in London will come round and a friend will come over (also Australian) and my flatmate (Asian) so we will have an 'orphans' Christmas. Whatever you all do and whoever you do it with, please be happy, safe and well so we can continue the discussions and sharing of opinions well into 2017. I have been lucky enough to meet some of you this year and look forward to meeting more of you at other shows and events. Hopefully Santa comes!

Just wanted to say I was at the Almeida yesterday and got talking to a very polite gentleman and when I mentioned "the forum" he asked what had happened to the Whatsonstage Forum...and I proudly told him how a bunch of clever and valiant warrirors had rescued the sinking ship and set up a splendid forum that was really special. As I was telling him all about it and making sure he had the right website address I realised once again what an amazing feat it actually was and had a happy feeling in my heart! Thank you Admin Team and Moderators and happy Christmas everyone! x

Why didn't you just come straight out and admit that you are descendants of Italian Catholics?
I do believe that Theatre Forum is nearly hitting its first anniversary, so congratulations to all who got this into the cyber stratosphere and it wouldn't be so great without all you posters who I wish a very Happy Christmas and to our American Friends Happy Holidays.

Big Famillies are normally from Italian or Irish Roman Catholic stock and is used as a joke. Like when someone says they are from a big family from Northern Island, people may reply with 'you dad was either a good Catholic or sloppy Protestant. Maybe not known in Australia.

Well I'm not an Italian and not a Catholic...😉..but I do wish everyone a Happy Christmas. I hope everyone on the Board has some theatre over the hols. I'm doing the RSC offerings in Stratford. Thanks Antony for starting the thread and thanks for all the nice comments about the Board. My fellow Mods did a brilliant job. ( I just said, yes and why not and go on then..) and we hope the Board goes from strength to strength. I haven't managed to meet anyone yet ( except the original Mods) so get those badges on!

Merry Christmas to everyone, and thanks to all our members for making this a great forum. It hardly seems possible we've been here less than a year.

Merry Christmas to you all! And very many thanks to everyone who managed the move.
Work party tonight, so no theatre for me this weekend. Did manage to get Saint Joan tickets for the 29th though so not quite done with theatre for the year.

I've been wanting to post about how amazing this board is - it's really filled a huge gap that would have been left by the closing of the WOS board. I'm just loving the sense of community, the humour!, the sharing of information.
I'm having my 3rd Christmas in foreign lands - last 2 have been Italy, this year Bulgaria. Last 2 have been on my own, this year with my lad, he'll ski, I'll apres ski. His Australian girlfriend of 3 months is majorly pissed off with me ...
No theatre until New Years Eve, taking a friend to see Aladdin as her birthday treat. I'm in a loge so hopefully not too much bad behaviour.
Happy Christmas all from this Irish Catholic.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all from not so sunny Mediterranean coast of Spain (Feliz navidad y prospero año nuevo to any Spanish members). Been in Spain nearly 40 years now but I still pull a cracker and have at least a mince pie or two. I too echo my gratitude to all the amazing people who put this site together and of course to its contributors.

A Merry Christmas with added Jazz Hands to you all fabulously theatrical folk. It's been great sharing a year of theatre madness with you all, with big thanks to the Moderators for keeping things running (and keeping us in line!)
May your Christmases be as merry as a Panto Dame who hit the sherry a bit too early in a three show day!

Yes happy Christmas everyone. In a world where people want you to take things like formatting of page numbers seriously this is a refreshing haven of interest and humour, have a good one everyone and thank you for all of those who are vital in keeping this place going.

Happy Christmas, fromt he bottom of my chilly little heart, to you all! This has been a brilliant start to this forum and, for me, has even started friendships outside of the online world because of it. From discovering new productions and new theatres, to having oppertunities I never thought I would even get as a theatre-goer, alot of these have stemmed from thsi forum, and for thst I am so, so grateful. I will be spending Christmas with family (about 15 of us) and then New Years with friends. I don't really see the point of New Years other than to drink in complete honesty, but I haven't had a regular New Years in about two years as one was spent working behind a bar (never again) and the other was spent at a wedding, which was possibly the best New Years ever! I hope everyone has a a safe, exciting, memorable and happiness filled Christmas and a very Happy New Year too. Love to you all. x

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all. It doesn't seem like a year that we were all panicking on the old board and trying to work out where to go next. Thanks to everyone who helped to set the new board up.

Echo all the sentiments above - Merry Christmas to all, especially everyone who set up the new board, whatever their contribution!
I really should change my name and avatar as I'm no longer living in Gloucester but have decamped to glorious west Wales. Getting to London is a major expedition now so my visits will be severely curtailed. However, I'll be getting my 'fixes' from all you wonderful folk, posting your thoughts and opinions and keeping me royally entertained!

A very Merry Christmas to you all, I hope wherever you are in the world you all have a wonderful time. Thank you to all of you who take time out your lives to post reviews and comments which keep me entertained and have directed me to some shows I might otherwise have missed. Let's hope 2017 is bigger and better for each of us personally, for this fabulous board and for theatre land.
XOXO

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas. To those I have actually met from this site, and all of you whom I feel I know (even though I really don't).
And especially to all of you who have contributed to making this wonderful website, which I visit far too often. It hardly seems credible now that we were worried that this group would not continue. Wishing us all many more years of happy theatregoing and theatreboarding!
