No.
Sorry to dampen your enthusiasm george22 but despite its popularity, I find this show a massive facade.
It only reinforces the Brits obsessions with spiders, snakes and sharks. (Trust me, if it were that dangerous, we couldn't live there).
Firstly, in Australia, we don't have jungle. We have bush, or shrub.
Despite whatever bush tucker trials, these celebrities are not (in any way) in danger. Despite the associated insurance liabilites, Ant & Dec can walk right into the camp.
(Possibly out of sight to the celebrities) but the camp is surrounded by a scaffolding structure allowing the camera crew to do their job.
The hotel the celebrities start from and end up in is one of the most expensive in Australia.
This is a show with (usually) celebrities that no one in Australia has ever heard of.
In Australia we have a show, of similar format however the celebrities are in actual jungle in Africa.
Sorry george22

Speaking about its sister show here in Germany: I'd rather slash my wrists.

I watched the first couple of series but no more. Way too repetitive and not at all interesting for me.
I did enjoy Survivor which started just before I'm A Celebrity, I'd rather they'd done a celebrity version of that.

I wouldn't watch those kind of shows if my life depended on it.

You mean reality shows - gasp- aren't real?!
Now while personally I don't love this show, it's also harmless entertainment (well to everyone except the insects that get munched I guess). And I enjoy a five minute dip into it when nothing else is on.
TV snobbery is irritating.
Someone save me a google search and tell me who is rumoured to be on...

The past few series' are a bit of a blur to me as I just didn't have time to watch a nightly show whilst at drama school, but I can't deny I'm a sucker for the jungle & unashamedly so!! It's usually a laugh, I'm a big Ant & Dec fan, and most of the people I know will be talking/facebooking/tweeting about it, so it's nice to join in! But totally get that it's not everyone's cup of tea - or kangaroo anus.

ITV have missed a trick here - they could get a couple of young brainless female celebrities, like former model or TV reality stars to walk round in bikinis with their tits hanging out.

Sorry george22 It wins numerous awards in the U.K. and fair enough it could be a facade but I think it is still so entertaining to watch! Ant & Dec are the best presenters in England and the show is very fun. Regarding the hotel, we know how expensive it is because they do the "coming out" show where we see the celebrities get eliminated and go to the hotel but we see how expensive and lush it is. And regarding the celebrities, I guess the show is made for U.K. viewers and we have heard of the celebrities. It would probably be the same for the Australian version, we probably wouldn't of heard of many of the celebrities on there

Especially in recent years. In fact, calling some of them celebrities is an insult to other contestants.

I can safely say that I have heard of fewer of this year's contenders than in any year so far.

Sorry george22 You do realise that viewers do know it's not filmed with a hand-held camera and that the crew aren't staying in tents. And that the celebs are momstly people that nobody in Britain has ever heard of. Why would we expect it to be Aussie-friendly? Is it shown there?

I love me some reality tv but I think this crosses a line. Yes I used to watch it and guffaw at the z-listers being humiliated. But then it just got depressing that people are so desperate to maintain their celebrity, or for a job, that they will demean themselves with the sort of tasks they're required to perform. It goes way beyond Big Brother and into total humiliation, as well as playing on people's personal fears and phobias. I find it uncomfortable to watch, so I don't.
I do think its very telling that in an age where bullying is looked down on, we put people in reality tv shows and bully them publicly instead. Then we justify by saying "oh well they're asking for it, they want to be pop stars and they're crap" or "they're talentless z list celebs, how pathetic, let's make them eat worms and laugh at it". It's pretty pathetic really and just shows we haven't progressed at all. We just get our bullying kicks in different ways.

All I can say is if Survivor hadn't stopped in the UK after two series, I'd still be watching that now. I'm A Celeb, however, not my thing.

All I can say is if Survivor hadn't stopped in the UK after two series, I'd still be watching that now. I'm A Celeb, however, not my thing. I loved Survivor! But then thinking about it, I do prefer 'reality' shows where there is no public voting eg. Apprentice, Bake Off, Hunted, etc. I understand programmes will always be heavily edited and scenes/comments can be taken out of context but I find the public vote ones just become too contrived, the tabloids join in and yes, it certain cases it becomes acceptable (?) bullying. I don't watch I'm a Celebrity, except to see who goes in (like Celebrity Big Brother and I'm lucky if a know a couple of them), but I did watch it many years ago when at one point the same person (I forget who) was voted to do the trials every day, by the Great British Public, egged on by the tabloids. They were rubbish, should never have been in there as they were scared of everything and after a while even Ant and Dec were starting to look uncomfortable about it all (are they part of the production team too?). It was very unpleasant to watch, so I stopped!

You'd have to guess that if her delightful 'Gogglebox' persona is the real thing and that she doesn't turn out to be a nasty moaning minnie for the duration of the show, she's the winner.
