The thing that surprised me more than Dreamgirls nominations are nominating Tyrone's Judas as a SUPPORTING part. Like, seriously? Judas with 3 or 4 solo songs and lots of other moments is a supporting character? I thought the whole story was about him as much as it was about Jesus, if not bigger

It's a popularity contest. and generally cornered by people who covet social media the most and will indulge as many people as possible in stage-door selfies. *shudders*

That's the problem with awards like these though, people are going to nominate and vote for what they've seen, and as the vast majority of people won't have seen everything, it really is nothing more than a popularity contest, doubled down because first the shows have to have been popular enough for people to see, then the popular choices in and among those popular shows will have that extra boost. Pointless really. "Awards don't matter" I always quote Ab Fab because I have huge issues with the whole concept of giving awards for artforms.

The show is tonight, and the pre show is live on facebook at the moment! Lucie Jones looks stunning! Can't wait to see who wins what!

Before it begins, these were the predictions I made the other day. Not based on who I want to win particularly, but some I most definitely want to win! But also taking into consideration fanbase, time of year, popularity haha. So these are what I see taking what! Time will only tell if I am even remotely close to right. • Best Actor in a Play (Ian McKellen for No Mans Land) • Best Actress in a Play (Billie Piper for Yerma) • Best Actor in a Musical (Andy Karl for Groundhog Day) • Best Actress in a Musical (Amber Riley for Dreamgirls) • Best Supporting Actor in a Play (Anthony Boyle for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) • Best Supporting Actress in a Play (Noma Dumezweni for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) • Best Supporting Actor in a Musical(Tyrone Huntley for Jesus Christ Superstar) • Best Supporting Actress in a Musical (Victoria Hamilton-Barritt for Murder Ballad) • Best New Play (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) • Best New Musical (Dreamgirls) • Best Play Revival (No Man's Land) • Best Musical Revival (Funny Girl) • Best Direction (John Tiffany for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) • Best Choreography (Andrew Wright for Half a Sixpence) • Best Costume Design (Gregg Barnes for Dreamgirls) • Best Set Design (Christine Jones for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) • Best Lighting Design (Neil Austin for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) • Best Video Design (Finn Ross and Ash Woodward for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) • Best Off-West End Production (The Last Five Years) • Best Regional Production (Rent) • Best West End Show (Wicked)

Omg I am sat here in the dress circle having been blown away by Amber and Liisi. Billie Piper collected her award but a few people around me commented she may have had a few too many drinks before the show! She was a little all over the place!! Loving it so far though!

No surprise, at interval, Harry Potter has won all but one of their nominations thus far! But thrilled for Half a Sixpence winning two, especially because the Choreography is incredible and Emma is great in the show! It is one of my favourite shows of last year, so really happy for it! I have a slight feeling now, that Charlie may win Actor in a Musical. A big category, but he would totally deserve it and I'd love to see him nab it! If not him though, I'd be happy with Andy Karl haha.

Do the mortals get to mingle with the celebs at the interval?

Do the mortals get to mingle with the celebs at the interval? My friend just text me saying she was outside the theatre smoking with Billie Piper. Speaking of which, no offence intended, but what has Ms. Piper done to her lips?!

Tried to watch the Facebook red carpet interviews but they were practically inaudible because Lucie Jones couldn't work out how high to hold up her mic.
And Tyrone didn't win his category so I don't care anymore.

I still have no clue which way the top four musical awards will go (Musical, Actor, Actress & Revival).

This is the first year in ages that I didn't go. Always been lucky enough to get an invite and sat amongst the great and good. No one loves me this year......
Not surprised that Harry Potter won so many as these awards are decided by the public and it has a huge fan base. Really pleased for Half a Sixpence but surprised as I thought I was the only person who liked it.
