It got me thinking how many times have you been to a certain theatre over the years even though the production changed? I have been to the Gielgud 3 times for Hair, AVENUE Q and umbrellas of Cherbourg. Like wise the Palladium I have seen Sound of music, Sister Act, Cats and A Chorus Line. What about you?

I'm willing to go out on a limb and say I've spent the most time in the National Theatre. But it's sort of cheating, because I don't think any of the three auditoria would be my most visited taken on an individual basis. Otherwise probably the Globe. I doubt any other theatre holds a candle to the National and the Globe when it comes to my Most Visited, I expect it's easily over 100 visits to those two (no, I don't have any other hobbies, why do you ask?).

Definitely Palladium for me. Followed by the Starlighthalle in Bochum and the Kings Cross Theatre (Railway Children/In The Heights space).

I think there's actually Broadway theatres that I've spent more time in than any London theatres which is quite ridiculous when I live in the UK.

Definitely Palladium for me. Followed by the Starlighthalle in Bochum and the Kings Cross Theatre (Railway Children/In The Heights space). Funny you should mention the Starlighthalle. Even though my years of fandom obsession are now a LONG time ago, it's probably still the theatre I've spent most time in with about 40 visits or so in 15 years. I'm currently planning a nostalgia-retro-trip there. When it comes to London, I'd have to look through my programmes but not counting repertory theatres like the National or even the Donmar, Menier, etc with their changing schedules it's probably a few of the smaller theatres like the Noel Coward, Duke of Yorks, Wyndhams and Apollo I've visited fairly often whereas most of the bigger musical theatres have been clogged up with longrunners at some point or other and as there's always so much new stuff to see I rarely manage a repeat visit.

I'd have to look up the exact numbers in my spreadsheet, but on a gut level I'd say it's either the Apollo Victoria (Wicked) or the Shaftesbury (Rock of Ages, Memphis plus a few other shows). AV is more likely though.

Over the last couple of years I think it has been St James - if you include the studio and the main house. High turnover of shows there helps of course.

I think most visits to a single theatre is actually still The Imperial in NY, my Boy From Oz obsession, combined with a couple of visits since then for other shows pushes it up there. In London it's likely the NT though if we include how many times I've set foot in there to use their loos the Globe is a close second
ETA in literal terms it's probably the Sheman or WMC here in Cardiff due to a combination of sheer proximity and a stint working at both...

I have a word document. I like the idea of putting it in a spreadsheet but it would be a LOT of work...

Recently, I've removed the ticket price column from my spreadsheet (the numbers were just too scary), but apart from that it's up-to-date. Will post the numbers when I'm back home.

Mines the Shaftesbury, simply because of those 11 times I saw Memphis. No regrets!

52 visits to the Royal Exchange. Not bad, my first show there was in 2011.

Wow you lot are super organised, I used to try and remember them in my mind but as I'm very forgetful I resorted to a pinterest board to show what I've seen. I think generally will have spent most time in Crucible and lyceum in Sheffield. Think it's too late to organise myself with a spreadsheet!!!

Also the National for me. Then the RSC, Donmar, Royal Court, and maybe the Bush?

Regionally, I've seen lots of shows at Newcastle Theatre Royal and Sunderland Empire.
In London, it's a tie between the Savoy and the Palladium.

Another proud spreadsheet owner here ;-) Although I only started keeping it in earnest about 5 years ago.
My gut would say that I visit my local Am Dram theatre the most, followed by the Southwark Playhouse. The spreadsheet corroborates this, but apparently I've also been to the Regent's Park open air theatre the same nr of times as Southwark. I'm surprised by that! Although Southwark will overtake it in a few weeks when I see Side Show.
I suppose it's not surprising since they have a high turnover of shows and I rarely go to see the same production of a show twice.
(Completely off topic, but recently I was half-heartedly considering going to see the touring production of Stepping Out. But my spreadsheet tells me that I already saw this in 1997...I have absolutely no memory of this at all!!!)

My local theatre, the Arts Theatre in Cambridge, would be my most visited. In London it would be the Apollo Victoria, thanks to my racking up 60-odd visits to Wicked in its first 3 years. Other London theatres I have spent quite a lot of time in include Her Majesty's, the Criterion, the Duchess, the Aldwych & the Royal Opera House.
I have a Word document. I do sometimes contemplate moving to a spreadsheet but it would take forever after.

This is fun!!
Even with multiple trips to the same theatre for the different shows that inhabit it (i.e Prince Edward: Mary Poppins, Jersey Boys x2, Miss Saigon x2, or Adelphi: Chicago, Joseph, Sweeney x2, Made In Dagenham, Kinky Boots), I doubt that any of those kind of trips to a single theatre will beat my current record (that'll be rather low in comparison to others!) of around 18 times or so (and counting) to The Queen's for Les Mis. That theatre feels like home!
