Living in Cardiff for a long while I'd see Russell T Davies on a regular basis, and I was always too scared to talk to him (not because he's scary he seems a lovely man) because the combination of Queer as Folk and Doctor Who, for me, made me really in awe. A few years down the line I'm more confident and I would go up to him if I saw him, but I feel I'd still be in awe.
For me also, Gillian Anderson reduced me to a bit of a fangiling mess! Everyone else I'm fairly level headed and think of a random thing or two to say!

First time meeting Hugh Jackman which was before a matinee performance of A Steady Rain on Broadway in 2009. The funny thing is I had met Daniel Craig 5 minutes earlier and everything was fine. Had a short chat with him and he borrowed my sharpie to sign a few playbills for other people. Very polite guy who seemed genuinely interested to hear what people thought about the play.
There were about 15 people there in total. It was all very laid back and calm. Hugh Jackman didn't arrive in a car like Daniel Craig but simply strolled up to the theatre, coffee in hand. He was absolutely lovely, took photos with everyone, chatted and signed playbills. I wish I had been able to utter more than a few random words! But my brain seemed unable to function properly. I did get a photo though so I was happy.
I met him again in 2015 and that time I managed a nice little conversation - definite improvement there.

Are we talking about on or off stage experiences now?  I think Mark Strong was the only one who manage to make a complete pool of swoon out of me. I always try to behave like a normal human beeing and not to get my fangirling out too much but when he took me by the hands after A View From The Bridge (I was a bit of a wreck and still trembling) to comfort me I just melted. I remember our chat only in patches cause I was just too damn awestruck. This man is a walking charisma and too handsome for words. Fiest time meeting Mark Rylance too. But he has this incredible hearty attitude that immediately makes you feel like you are a pal and can talk about anything with him. Might be my favourite person in the theatre world Ever. |

...So I ever so politely and coherently also ask for a photo, which she agrees to, depending on her friend. I completely ignore her, thrust the camera into the friends hands, arm around her waist, the flash goes off and this moment in time is forever captured. One of the top highlight of my time here to date.... Love this new profile pic, anthony... and captures your story perfectly. |
