Next reveal on This Morning today - presumably a presenter - just googled them and, apart from Rylan who would be hilarious, I'm not much excited. Not sure I'd want to watch Rylan. I'd like it to be Ruth. Gino might be great or horrendously annoying. I don't think any of the others would be big enough names (unless it was Holly or Phillip which I doubt).

Not sure I'd want to watch Rylan. Mini Tibs met him last year and he was totally adorable. She's ok, but the camera would be forever on Amen in the audience and I'd need the eye-bleach. (What was she thinking?)

(What was she thinking?) I really like Rylan, but I find him a bit annoying if he gets over excited which I imagine would happen on Strictly. You're right, they would focus on her hubby a bit too much. I never used to like him but he has grown on me.

I've just turned the telly on to see this and there's some agony person on along with Eamonn and Ruth at the moment......oh dear. Edit: Lordy, but this is boring....

So Ruth it is then. And she's just told Eamonn that he's got to be there every Saturday. He's moaning about football. I like her, but he will make this all about him of course.

I like Ruth, she seems like she'll take it all in good humour but also actually put the effort in. I would quite like to see her partnered with Aljaz or Brendan rather than Anton, though the latter seems fairly inevitable...

Ruth is well known and will have a big fanbase - Loose Women, This Morning before you factor in Eamonn etc - so she is a good addition as a contestant. As said above Anton seems a likely partner, personally I think Kevin is due to get an "older" female and might be a good fit for her. She will give it a go, I don't know how comfortable she'll be with the outfits- she wasn't in the Loose Women body confidence photo but I wouldn't expect a 57 year old to squeeze into the outfits a younger female celeb may do.
I agree that Rylan would be good too, he'd really go OTT in the latin and his height and attitude would be good in the ballroom plus he'd give as good as he got from Craig. I don't know about Gino, he'd just perhaps be in banter with Bruno.

I think her hiring will end up just as much about his reactions to Ruth's dancing, as it will be about her dancing itself! Kevin and Anton are 'safe' options, both deeply unoffensive and without any sense that they might 'Pr**k' Eamonn's sense of worth as a husband!!! Much more fun to watch him have to watch her with a young, gorgeous dancer! Rylan may well be a future pick, perhaps next year. Ruth is unusual, as a current ITV employee - given the number of years any ITV stars have essentially been banned from Strictly, so I don't see more than one celeb from the ITV stable this time round.

Fortunately, as a Manchester United supporting glory hunter, Eamonn will hardly ever have a prior engagement on a Saturday teatime. Even with a 12 noon kick-off, he can catch a flight down to Heathrow, and be sitting on the front row in plenty of time!

Gorka or Giovanni would be fun choices to get Eamonn jealous if they were Ruth's partner. AJ is just too young, Neil Jones could be a dark horse but as it's his first year partnering a celeb he may get someone who has more "potential". Brendan could also wind Eamonn up but his bad boy days are probably considered behind him now.

(Apart from the bit about him sitting in the front row, sadly.) Agree with you all about hoping for a pretty boy for Ruth. Shame James has gone - he'd have wound up the husband. Kevin's definitely due a non-contender I would have thought.

James Jordan would have wound Eamonn up but also vice versa. Eamonn would have joked about linking up with Ola.

Do we know who's sitting out this year? Doesn't that only happen when someone drops out at the last minute? Didn't that strange Egghead drop out last year? (year before?) I wasn't aware they have an extra on purpose, but you could be right.

Two years ago Joanne had to sit out at the last minute, but last year they had Chloe and Neil sitting it out deliberately and just doing the pro dances.

Your memory's better than mine d'James - I remember now! I don't think we know how many contestants there are do we? Next reveal I've heard about is on Chris Evans' show on Friday. One of his guests is Martine McCutcheon....yawn. Brian Conley has not denied so I'm thinking he's for real. Hope so. Wish they'd get all 3 Top Gear boys. That would be a laugh! (Proper Top Gear boys I mean, not whoever's doing it now!)

That'd be another turn off for me I'm afraid. I think Martine's just a guest. They've started quite well with these three. Carry on Strictly.

Agree the first 3 are ok (even if I've only heard of one of them!)
So no reveal tomorrow?

Actually, I've read it might be on BBC Breakfast.

Oh there's usually one of them isn't there? Are there any left who haven't done it? I was kind of hoping for the ITV morning weather man or sports presenter.

I'd love Louise to do it. Steph or Sally could be good too.

Love Louise. Sally or Steph would be time to put the kettle on for me. Isn't Steph a champion Irish dancer and therefore ineligible? (Hope so, sorry.) Charlie has always said he wouldn't do it. Shame.

Shame. There are no rules on previous dance experience as far as I know - sometimes they just get a bit less initial training time. And speaking as someone who's danced both Irish dancing and ballroom, they're completely different beasts, and the former will be no more help for the latter than any musician would have an advantage because they have rhythm and can count the beat. Steph would annoy me but I'd be happy if the Breakfast rep is any of Dan, Louise or Sally. Martine McCutcheon would be a complete turn off though.
