Some pros had to miss out and to relegate someone who had already had a partner would be hard and there were only possibly two realistic options - Amy and Dianne who it could have been.
With there having been cliques before maybe they feel that not having both Neil and Katya with celeb partners and keeping Giovanni's pro partner Luba in the show dances only stops this happening.
Luba believe me is a very hot dancer having seen her perform with Gio live so will be great in the Group Dances.
I'm a bit surprised the first black male pro Johannes won't have a partner though Graziano is the new Italian eye candy for this year. I would have personally thought give Johannes a partner and let Graziano have lots of leads in the pro dances.

Clunky application form. Why does it want your county? Post code should be enough. I haven’t stated Middlesex on a form for a while.

Anyone else seen the new Strictly promotion add with the two pairs of shoes dancing in the rain? It’s brilliant!

Thanks for the dates - we'll get spoiler previews of the pairings soon.
They used to do a big Wembley show too but that was Children in Need Week so unless they did Final in Blackpool they couldn't really do both.
Halloween Special will be 27th October I think - I never understood why Tess never dressed up for that - Claudia could just put more dark eye shadow on for that.

John Lloyd Young (Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys, both Broadway and film) is competing in the American version of the show.

I actually really like this line up. It includes my favourite signing of all time and lots of people I do like. However, I think Ashley’s inclusion is a step too far in terms of previous experience. I do really like her though. Agree with you. I’m not usually interested in the line-up but this looks like a really interesting group. I’m sure I have seen photos of Ashley with her legs wrapped round her own neck so assume she has had a lot of dance training.

Does anyone know if Dancing With The Stars is shown on a UK tv channel as would love to see John Lloyd Young? When Alphonso Ribero was on I used to just watch his dances on the DWTS YouTube channel the following day.

Zoe Ball said on her Radio 2 show earlier this afternoon that next Saturday's launch show was recorded last night. I would rather wait, so won't be, but I suppose it's easy enough to do a bit of digging and find out who has been partnered with whom. Will there be a separate spoiler thread again this year, BurlyBeaR, for those that way inclined?

I’ve seen the pairings. Won’t dare to say anything at all here.

Strictly Come Dancing is adding first new dance category in nearly 10 years
My opinion on these dance styles aside, it kinda negates all of the cries of "but I've not done ballroom before" from the experienced celebrities... but it's only one week and we'll see how it turns out. Just seems we're veering more and more towards the generic style of DWTS, rather than the traditional Ballroom and Latin focus Strictly has had.

If they're going to add any new dances it should either be 'Hip Hop' or 'Interpretive Dance' instead. For sh*ts and giggles of course.
"And next up is Kate Silverton, with a hip-hop routine to a medley of one of those songs that all sound the same from 'Hamilton' and Russ Abbott's 'Atmosphere' . . . "
Pleased to see they're allowing people to do a tap routine though.

I think this season I will only watch as long as Danny John Jules is still in. My husband hates the programme So won't tell him that as he will put a curse on him.

Hopefully we get Nadiya and her celeb doing a Burlesque routine!
Tap will be good if we have some celebs who can tap dance.

Maybe with this addition we can keep these other styles out of the normal routines (though I doubt it). We need Len back, he wouldn't stand for all the faffing about!
I'm going to throw my shoes at the next person that rumbas barefoot!

I’m sure they do more Latin because they can then have the gals in mini frInges and the boys with a bare chest. ( I’m not complaining Ryan, just putting idea forward here) but the foxtrot and waltz are so beautiful so I hope they show them in the early weeks. Personally my least fave weeks are Halloween and the Musical weeks. I like it pure and simple.

They do more Latin because none of the pros are ballroom specialists anymore (except Anton) and some of them can barely dance it better than amateurs themselves... Oh 😳 There are some who are decent enough because they used to compete in both styles at least in their younger days and are properly trained - Aljaz, Nadiya, Kevin, Oti, Amy, Neil and Katya are the ones that fall into this category I think. However, only Nadiya has competed in 10 Dance professionally so she is the only one with a celeb partner apart from Anton who can really be called a professional ballroom dancer. I think Luba may have done so as an amateur, but I'm not 100% sure and she doesn't have a celeb partner anyway. Dianne competed in Australia but her background is more stage dancing with Burn the Floor, and Pasha, Gorka, Johannes and Giovanni all only ever competed in Latin. I think Graziano is the same. I think AJ has only ever competed in Latin but his parents run a dance school so I expect he properly learned ballroom as well. On the other hand, Karen was a Mambo specialist who to my knowledge has never competed in ballroom and Janette is a Salsa specialist who has never as far as I'm aware competed professionally in standard ballroom & Latin at all.
