Former Chancellor Philip Hammond at Coram Boy press night at CFT tonight.
Also, saw Samuel Barnett sat with director Anna Ledwich & Adam Gillen lurking near the cafe (he's in The Caretaker which opens next week).
And usual press suspects Arifa & Shenters.

Elizabeth Dibecki at the matinee of View From The Bridge yesterday
and a very grumpy looking Ruth Wilson who, apologies if this is just her resting face, but had what looked like the biggest scowl on her face throughout all of last night's Cherry Orchard at the Donmar

Can anyone think of a British actor, 40s or 50s, with prematurely greying hair and a sort of permanently surprised expression (upturned eyes, nose and downturned mouth? Can't remember his name or what I've seen him in, but he was at the Orange Tree on Saturday!

The one I saw is younger, possibly 10/15 years younger. Fairly sure I've seen him both on the stage and on tv. It's maddening because I used to have a fantastic memory bu difficult to do a search with the scanty information I have.

I felt I was scowling through that production too.

Not at the theatre, but after the matinee at ROH, went to J Sheekey's for early dinner and Tom Holland and Saoirse Ronan were there.

I thought the same. Either that or she was going to the evening performance. Another guy came in with them, but he left after a few minutes. My friend said it was Jack Lowden but I'm not sure it was him.

I once got very tongue-tied when Con O'Neill sat next to me at the Lyric Hammersmith - trying very hard to pretend I did not know who he was, whilst at the same time to engage him in a conversation. Even worse, my absolute hero Stephen Sondheim, once sat in the row behind me - I can't even remember what the production was!

SilverFox I went to the last day of the National Theatre’s Angels in America. First person I saw as I entered was Joel Grey, then saw Ben Barnes sitting a couple of rows in front of me, with Benedict Cumberbatch in front of him. But I later read that Sondheim was there (Follies was in rehearsal at the time) and was gutted not to have seen him, even if only from afar.
