Following his passing yesterday, I was reminded that I sat behind Bobby Charlton at Frost/Nixon back in the day. He did not like it, I agreed.

Last night at the Cowbois press night in Stratford, Victoria Scone was looking fabulous.
Callum Scott Howells was also there.
All very queer!!
The show is well worth seeing. Not perfect but impossible to not be swept up in it

Andrew Lloyd Webber in the Savoy dress circle bar area tonight, trying to sneak in for the end of the first half of Sunset. Was very pleasant and polite.

At The Limit at the Royal Opera House first spotted Ralph Fiennes in the stalls on a solo visit. As the show ended then spotted Nicholas Hytner leaving and he bumped into Fiennes in the bar.

This may be the most Z-List sighting ever but I saw Michelle Mcmanus 'Pop Idol Winner' last week at the opera.

This may be the most Z-List sighting ever but I saw Michelle Mcmanus 'Pop Idol Winner' last week at the opera. My favourite Z-list sighting was years ago now. At an early preview of a show there was a woman down the front in a really showy bright red backless dress. Very out of place and “look at me.” When she turned around it was Lauren Harries. The show… Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

Over the years I have seen many cast members from Coronation Street attending press nights at the Manchester theatres.

I rather coincidentally sat next to Hal Prince twice (and three decades apart). The first was in May ‘88 at Her Majesty’s in London, where he was making notes on the Dave Willets/Irene Bartok/Michael Ball led company for Phantom’s second year. Then again many years later at one of Jason Robert Brown’s SubCulture residency shows in New York. He was wonderfully gracious both times and seemed very happy to talk Phantom with me - be it as an excitable 10 year old, or a 40-something after a few red wines for Dutch courage.

We had Jonathan Wilkes sat next to us at I Should Be Lucky...apparently Had to stand up to let him pass and the woman next to us went all fangirly and asked him for a selfie. Had to ask her who he was as I didn't recognise him, despite having a bit of a crush on him years ago. He's still being introduced as "Robbie William's friend".

Graham Norton was in the audience of The Little Big Things tonight.
A few different people in front of me were discreetly taking pictures of him in his seat before the show started and zooming right into his face, which I found...bizarre.

God, people can be such d*cks. Yeah it was very cringeworthy! He was just sitting with who I assume was his partner, not drawing attention to himself in any way.

I never see anyone famous so I am very excited by this.
Simon Callow at A Christmas Carol.
It gets better.
Chris Ecclestone jumped off the stage during the redemption scene and was greeting people in the audience. He stopped and held both of Simon’s hands. ‘Well a very merry Christmas to YOU, sir.’
In other news, the show was brilliant.
