It did feel like quite a "celeb" crowd at Tammy tonight, I did start thinking there were bound to be more, I just didn't know who they were! 🤣

A bit of a while ago now, but I accidentally went to the press night of Jospeh at the palladium in 2021 - I literally had no idea, I just booked it last minute because I had a night off!
During the interval I was waiting in the queue for a drink when I heard a voice shouting 'Bonnie!' and then another replied 'Debbie!',then I looked to my side and Bonnie Langford and Debbie Mcgee were hugging and chatting. It was potentially the most theatrical meeting of friends that I've ever seen.
As I was leaving it dawned on me that Beverley Knight was sitting a few seats away from me, I was glad that I didn't realise until then as I'm a fan and would've found it very distracting to be honest! Due to the covid restrictions at the time it took AGES to get out of the venue, so I ended up walking directly behind Beverley as we were leaving for around 10-5 minutes - it was a bizarre evening to be honest!

Saw Sheila Hancock at Good on Wednesday night.
I saw Tammy Faye tonight but didn't see anyone. I didn't wait in the foyer though.

Tom Reed Wilson was at the play I am currently directing on Thursday. As were three of the original cast who took the time to come to see the first revival of the script.
Was a special evening

Tonight at Tammy Faye, Jake Shears had Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos with him. I would imagine Kelly and Mark would be able to sit there without being recognised by the majority of the audience. Gosh, Tammy Faye is a real celeb magnet although I only just realised that David Haig was probably there yesterday as his son Fred is in the cast.

Yep, didn't see them getting bothered in the auditorium at all. There were a few of people looking over at them before the show began but they could have been just looking at Jake Shears instead. I imagine Mark Conseulos would probably get recognised more by the Heathers crowd who are probably Riverdale fans.

Oh ok I'm jealous, Mark Conseulos is super hot. Had a thing for him for years.
They are good friends with Jake so not a surprise

Sat next to Daniel Dae Kim at Merrily last week. Maria Friedman came and greeted him before the show. Sonia Friedman was also there.

For the old-timers ..
Wayne Sleep at Swan Lake on Wed, looking pretty fabulous given I thought he was dead; cackling away, gossiping, enjoying a glass or two. Very nice to see.
David Mellor sitting directly in my line of sight in the bowels of the ROH last night for Least Like The Other, Searching for Rosemary Kennedy.
I did think that, if you meld them together, you get Lester Piggott.

The idea of "melding" Wayne Sleep and David Mellor has put a very unpleasant image in my mind. Is a Chelsea shirt involved?

Matthew Needham (Larys Strong from House of the Dragon) at Streetcar (I think...) and Rebecca Trehearn at One Woman Show (also I think...)

I knew Sleep's ballet career had been limited by his lack of height but I hadn't realised until I walked past him on Wednesday just how short he is.

If there wasn’t another suitable seat I’d have to leave.

theglenbucklaird yes, it was. Likely to be my most expensive ticket of the year but truly marvellous. One to be remembered Mellor and I both left during the curtain call, me a couple of minutes after he did. I passed him on the top stairs. Slow, hunched, not looking after himself. He's a year younger than Wayne Sleep but could be 15 years older.

Caryl Churchill sat next to us at Orlando this afternoon. Did one exchange pleasantries? Sadly not. Had there been an interval, we might have had the opportunity to instigate a natter.

Apparently his chauffeur hates to wait and he has to get all the way back to Wapping. Low life.

Sunday Tannhauser revival at ROH. As I walked in I saw a familiar smiling face and started to walk over to say hello. Only stopped when I realised it was the Rev Richard Coles.
The odd thing is after 4 decades of attendance, I can only recall that experience once before. At the last revival Jools Holland very nearly got the chance to return my greeting.
