I'm definitely not young. In fact, I'm probably one of the old biddies some of you moan about in the Bad Behaviour Thread for 'ladies' of a certain age .... only I don't behave like that, and take exception to being lumped in with them. I'm usually quiet as a mouse, take my seat, switch phone off (only switching it back on halfway home when I remember!) and certainly don't rustle sweety bags (although I have been known to swig from my water bottle mid-show). Being of this certain age, I am reluctant to post my pic on here, but will certainly look out for those of you brave enough to do so. I too am one of our older members, and whilst not wishing to support stereotyping, admit it's true in my case that I'm not that proficient with IT, so would have no idea how to post a photo of myself even if I wished to. I am an avid user of Twitter (not using my actual name, obviously) but I loathe FB and though I am not criticising others who think otherwise, prefer anyway for safety and security reasons, especially being female, not to be too readily identifiable. |

social media/online forums are still quite a new thing Not that new. The phrase "social media" may be new, but I had Internet access twenty years ago and, joining established on-line communities at the time, I felt I was late to the party. |

Yup I was talking on forums and following my various nerdy pursuits from the mid 90s! So while yes the young un's might have grown up with much more social media, I've been online talking about my geeky interests for far too long to think about  |

I don't know, I happily joined the internet in the mid-90's (oh the days of Netscape Navigator and Geocities!) and was thrilled with early chat rooms that allowed me to talk to theatre people all over the world. I've also posted in forums ever since, but I've always been rather shy about doing things like blogging and putting my thoughts/opinions out there on public display. While I am on Facebook and Twitter now, I limit most Facebook activities to my friends and rarely say something "public" (that puts my full real name, photo, etc. on display) and I've only ever used Twitter to stalk follow favorite actors, singers, writers, etc to find out what they are up to. I just don't get a handle on active participation on these new social media channels. So maybe I'm old/too late to that particular party. I'm definitely glad this "old school forum" exists - and I did order one of those badges now, so we'll see what happens I'll wear it proudly beside the #keepthesecret badge. |

We're also planning to have TheatreBoard badgers, dyed in our blue and white colours. Now other board members will be able to recognise you by your very own 15kg of aggressive stripy mustelid.

Weasels are very small, stoats aren't necessarily much bigger, but ferrets are reasonably common pets that are quite happy to go for walks on leads. |

I was bit by a ferret once. Escaped from a neighbour, my (then young) son brought it into the house until I got home. He played with it all afternoon. I came in, kid put it in my arms, it ran up my arm, around my neck and bit me - hard - on the cheekbone. Heard it's teeth grate on my actual cheekbone. Had to be prised off my face. Dropped ferret off at local vet on way to A&E for tetnus jab.
I hadn't even taken my coat off.

I'm going to suggest ferret. According to QI unspayed female ferrets die if they don't have sex. Mind you, that's according to QI, but ferret experts seem to agree so they appear to have this one right. I have vague memories of someone at school claiming that he'd die if he didn't have sex. It didn't seem to occur to him that such a seemingly preposterous claim is merely going to encourage everyone around him to put it to the test. |
