At Pericles on Wednesday, we had a phone go off during the second half. Not a huge issue but irritating.
Not as irritating as the actor sat behind me who was determined to find everything absolutely hilarious and was equally determined to let the rest of the audience know how impressed he was.
It is one of the downsides of RSC press nights is that they are dominated by friends of the cast and RSC staff. So the audience reaction is more skewed than in other venues particularly in the Swan which is such an intimate space.
But the guy behind me was just being obnoxiously loud. Not enough to warrant action. But a constant distraction.

Saw Pericles at the RSC last night. There was a man on the front row who was trying to subtly film the start of the second half but his flash kept turning on. Found the whole ordeal quite funny as he wrestled with his phone to turn the flash off. It kept turning on and off for about five mins then he gave up and put it face down on the floor. No FOH intervention? No sadly, no FOH in sight during the ordeal |

Woman on her phone sending plenty of business emails next to me at Kiss Me, Kate last Thursday for pretty much the first 30 mins. Apologised to me after a little tap on the knee, but didn't actually make any efforts to stop! It's a tricky one at the Barbican because the aisle door shutting nature of the theatre makes it hard to for FOH to be on it with assisting.

My urge is to grab the phone and throw it / drop it, but that's probably some kind if assault or criminal damage. As it was in my recent issue at Two Strangers, I felt very uncomfortable even tapping the lady's hand to get her attention. It's all rather unfair and passively provocative. |

I do understand the frustration but touching or tapping someone is not the best thing to do.It puts the person doing it in the wrong and could escalate the situation. Please don’t put yourself in this position..
Anyone working FOH is repeatedly warned about this.

At Bernadette Peters concert last night 2 men sat in front of me, very friendly when they arrived, wine in hand and chatting to everyone around them. One was obviously a big Bernadette fan judging by his response giving her multiple standing ovations and also shouting out that he loved her. I think there may have been a few glasses of wine before the show as well.
They both got up 3 to 4 times during the short concert presumably to go to the loo, some singing along from one until the other told him to stop. One of them got his phone out several times to look at chats until FOH came along and stopped him and at one point I think he fell asleep for a few minutes. Now for someone who "loved" Bernadette it was strange they felt the need to keep checking their phone. I didn't say anything as they were clearly having a great evening and the behaviour was a bit annoying but iv'e seen a lot worse.

Saw him mooching around for a seat before the show and then blagging an ‘upgrade’ in the interval, but didn’t realise he was on an usher’s seat. The idea of him then doing the whole “luvvie at the theatre” bit is hilarious. Though I was sat on the opposite side of the theatre, so didn’t have to listen to him. |

I was at a show at the Apollo (I think The Go-Between) and he was in the Stalls and I was in the Dress Circle and I could still hear him. Then in the Interval he was at the bar in the middle, waiting to be seen. |

Although with less comedy moments than in Shirley Valentine, I wasn’t disturbed by any loud laughter thankfully.
In fairness I’ve not seen any OTT or luvvie behaviour from him so perhaps I’ve just been lucky!

Paul O'Grady and EP were at a press night at the Menier once and they were sat together. They were having a real laugh and chat before the start of the show and in walks Biggins. He sees them and I think he presumed he was sitting with them. He wasn't! He was the other side of the theatre. He keep looking over at them and if looks could kill.

As would anyone else on here I’m sure. 😂 If the Lowry in Salford does a press night it’s pretty much a given there’ll be half a dozen people off Coronation Street as the set’s only on the other side of the shipping canal. |

I had the misfortune of sitting behind Vanessa "look at me!" Feltz at a performance of "Once".
If she could have worn a hat with a flashing neon arrow pointing to her head she would have so no one would have missed her taking her seat.
