Haha. Nope I'm by the coast at the mo. Yes, I think I had some Discos recently too, and Tangy Toms. It's odd because I hardly ever eat crisps but saw them and had to try them!

The whiff of onion could have been a large pack of crisps Possible, but there was no rustling or crunching. Good thought, though. While on the subject, do they still do that 'Pickled Onion' flavour "Monster Munch?" You could always tell on school outings who had that, for sure... They most certainly do. Absolutely top notch in the snack genre, of which I consider myself something of an expert. They still do "beefy" flavour monster munch too, which are also good. What's really amazing though is mixing a bag of each in a bowl. I call it "snack cocktailing" or "monster munch roulette". im not averse to a bag of peanut M&M's either.

Turns out I eat rather a lot of crisps after reading my posts in this thread.

Don't like cheese. Don't like vinegar. Don't like pickle. Don't like ketchup. There are only Three True Flavours, and they are Ready Salted, Roast Chicken and Smoky Bacon. All others are heresy.

I guess the good news is that behaviour in the West End must have been pretty good lately, because all you guys can talk about is crisps!
The bad news is... I'm now craving crisps :-)

Nah, it's as bad as always. I'm just tired of posing the same things over and over.

The ONLY flavour Twiglets I like - can't stand marmite so those Worcester sauce ones were yum!

Dragging the thread back from crisps (Kettles Lightly Salted are my preference), I don't know how anyone can have the nerve to get up & go out to the loo during a play when seated in the middle of the front row but 2 people did at The Comedy About A Bank Robbery this afternoon. I was very pleased to see an usher intercept them on their way back in & make them go to the rear of the auditorium.
Parents are still totally ignoring the 11+ guidence. There was a child near me who looked about 5. I really hope that a few moments went right over her head because they're really not suitable for that age group!

I was once at a rock show festival in Hyde Park and a couple thought it was acceptable to bring their baby along. The little thing couldn't have been more then one. Most people there thought they were cool, pathetic.

I have mentioned this before but new parents need to accept that a baby means they can no longer do the things they did beforehand. Either get a babysitter or wait until the child is older. It's unfair to the child and unfair to everyone else around you.

Going back to food and interesting what peoples likes and dislikes, Monster Munch Beef flavour are my current favourite.
But indulge me for a minute, what are these packs of popcorn I am starting to see on theatre concession stands, they contain about 15 pieces of popcorn and cost£4, what a rip off!!!!

I was told that someone proposed to their partner during Phantom last week. Right in the middle of 'All I Ask of You'.
There was a mid song ripple of applause in that section of the audience when the person said yes.

Laughing at the poster (who I guess is an ASM or prop master or something) taking the opportunity to go into a tangential rant about how they work on a show where the actors ad lib and make jokes about technical problems and it hurts their poor widdle feelings. Next time I see a show where a prop falls apart or something in going to have a mental image of some poor overwrought ASM crying and wailing "I DID MY BEST!"

Obviously this couple felt their relationship was more important than the show that several hundred people had paid to see! Wonder if the other person said yes just to shut them up...

Then after the divorce she'll be saying to girlfriends "I should have realised when he proposed in the middle of Phantom".

I really hope that a few moments went right over her head because they're really not suitable for that age group! As I've said elsewhere, that would be the 11+ guidance which doesn't appear on the main page of the play's website, or anywhere if you click on "Book tickets" from the main page. You need to scroll down to the bottom of the "ticket info" page to do it, and why should anyone do that? If they are serious about the age guidance they need to make this more prominent and maybe not say "from the makers of the family friendly comedy your kids liked" in big writing on the front page.

I believe this thread is for things that we the posters here are bothered by, not what theatres are bothered by. For instance, theatres are happy to sell noisy sweets but a lot of us don't like it. The Criterion is evidently happy to let in 5 years olds but I am bothered by it.

Okay, not strictly theatrical...although it is being played at the Crucible so....
Hubby's been watching the snooker and at least twice in every session I've heard the referee ask that phones be switched off. Must be 10 times already today alone. Just how many times do people need to be told? Who do they think he's speaking to?
I did like his last remark though, in what may well be the final frame of the tournament..."...don't be the idiot that spoils the evening"...
