This is a very engaging two-hander from Rajiv Joseph. I very much enjoyed his Guards at the Taj in Richmond with which this has some superficial similarities. Both are two-handers that concern themselves with male friendship but this is more obviously relatable. The two guys become friends over a shared love of basketball. The play explores a 12 year time span which fascinatingly explores their changing fortunes in the world with first one and then the other in ascendancy.
It’s beautifully played by Sam Mitchell and Enyi Okoronywo - you really care about the characters.
There was a short show stop on Saturday night - the stage lighting went into complete darkness about half an hour in and stayed off for 10 minutes until rectified. Well handled by the two actors.
Recommended.
