Anybody out there been to see Su Pollard's tour Fully Charged? Its a whirlwind of songs, memories and campness. Su brings a smile to even the grimmest curmudgeon.

When I saw her doing a 30-minute stand-up piece on the gay nightclub circuit in the early 90s, she was decidedly mediocre but absolutely fine as entertainment for a crowd of p****d-up queers*. These days, I'd struggle to see past her Brexit activism and other political views.
When you don't find a comedian likeable, it's hard to laugh at their jokes, so, yes, I probably am that curmudgeon.
It works both ways of course, Twitter is full of people who find supposedly "leftie" comics unfunny.
(* - I was one such. I am not using that description in a derogatory or condemnatory or judgemental way. It's simply a pithy description of what we were.)

And I love that your *, combined with the 4* you already used for sweariness, makes you a 5 Star curmudgeon - which is the only type worth being.

Just found out they’re showing You Rang M’Lord on Freeview: comedy gold 🤣(and just seen it has a score of 8.7 out of 10 on IMDB, surely some vote rigging going on there, I will take their lists of the best films ever with an extremely large pinch of salt from now on).

Between Hi Di Hi, You Rang M’Lord, Oh Dr Beeching, Penny Crayon, she was on the TV all the time when I was growing up. Then, like Biggins, became one of those people that pops up every few years just to remind you that they are still alive, and still a bit err… ‘eccentric.’
Was quite surprised when Apple Music recently played Suddenly Seymour and it was her singing it. Looking at her Wikipedia she’s got fairly extensive list of musicals under her belt.

You Rang M'Lord is excellent so 8.7 sounds just right to me. It was also David Crofts favourite of his shows apparently.

She starred in the best Sweet Charity production that I have seen - way back in 1987 at the Worthing Connaught - with Jess Conrad at Vittorio, and directed by Dougie Squires.

She lives near me and I often see her around and about. She's difficult to miss as she dresses in the same sort of outfits she wears on TV to go to Sainsburys.

Saw her show 2 years ago it was fabulous… seemed like a test for this much larger tour fully charged which contained some of the same stories and songs , which I did enjoy but not as much as the last one …. She is a proper entertainer and has done many musicals I saw her in little shop of horrors early 90s , also in don’t dress for dinner she was hilarious … I also saw her one woman play Harpy which was excellent 👍
